OT: Sanchez tells Pete Carroll to stay in school!

Particularly those who espouse the "pumped and jacked" method of getting players motivated....

He was being facetious. Carroll told Sanchez to stay in school last year.

I HATE it when Jets players or coaches do something cool like that.

I think we all knew that.

Didn't sense it from the original post. Seemed like one of those "revelation/controversy" threads.

Pretty hilarious.

I like Sanchez a lot. I would have drafted him over Stafford. I think this season with the Jets, they didn't do a really good job with him and let him hoist a bunch of picks in bad situations because they're run by idiots. But I think he'll be a good QB, and part of it is his attitude.

I remember reading how he crashed a press conference of Stafford's to ask him what he thought of the "other" QB in the draft, some guy named Mark Sanchez. He's got a lot of intangibles and a good attitude, and should be a productive QB if the Jets don't screw him up too much with their incompetence.

I would have found it funny had Sanchez had a good year. A solid game yesterday doesn't change the fact that Carroll was right that Sanchez wasn't ready.

I am trying to think of a rookie QB who was truly ready to play in the NFL.

No doubt Sanchez would of benefited from playing 1 more year at USC, if he didn't get hurt, Probably would of only cost the Jets 3 games instead of 4 this year.

Nice joke on Sanchez part at any rate.

There's several from recently, the most obvious being Matt Ryan, all of whom had a ton of college starts compared to Sanchez.

Well there you go. :)

Sanchez was without doubt my favorite QB in the draft. But I thought he'd be one of those guys who really benefitted by sitting and learning for a year. It's debatable whether I was right.
