Poor McCoy

Put down the pipe. Boise is good, but they would get CRUSHED going up against Alabama or Florida. I'm not even sure they would beat Ole Miss. Still not sure why someone doesn't make a play for your head coach. He's done a good job with that program.

I'm sure you were spewing the same bull**** before the Fiesta Bowl a few years ago, your argument is old and moot.

We are 67-2 at home last 10 years, we are 14-0 this year(only OSU has done that in the BSC era) and we boast one of the great Coaches and QB's in college and young defenses.

You can say that Bama and Texas and FL would smoke BSU but then again you say a lot of things........

One Word!

PLAYOFFS, lets see how big and bad all these big schools are lmao

Wow. Were you waving your hands around with your middle and ring fingers curled around one another as you were saying that? It always amuses me how fans of teams from other conferences think that they can regularly compete and beat the teams in the SEC. I really wish Florida played in BSU's conference. They would have been undefeated for the past decade. I mean, I understand that you guys regularly have to go up against powerhouses like Nevada while we're stuck with going up against the LSU's, Tennessee's, Georgia's, and Alabama's of the world. But we can only play who is selected for us.

Hahaha... I don't even follow college football and I love all this smacktalk.

I'm sure you're reasonable enough to know that the SEC is just a LITTLE bit better than Boise's conference.

Talk talk talk

More Action! You can make all the excuses on why BSU is not in the same league as the SEC teams but all I see is talk talk talk.

Make a playoff system and we don't even have to have this conversation.

No.....lay off the pills man;)

Is Oregon bad?
Is OLK bad?
Is TCU bad?
Is BYU bad?

We beat them all and we could beat any of the SEC teams, I would love to see FL or Texas come up and play in Idaho in the middle of Nov.....lmao come get some!

I bet you thought the Rams would just roll over the Pat's in 01 uh? not in the same league bull****.....call yourself a Pat's fan lol:rolleyes:

On any given sat or sun anything can happen, don't act like you know.....cause you don't.

Just keep talking boy, you'll see in time. Next year is going to be fun! We are only losing 1 starter.....

You're right. I'll get right onto setting up that playoff system. By the way, Texas is not in the SEC. I really would have loved to see the Gators play Boise State this year. Then everyone up in Idaho can see what a speed advantage at every single position on the field looks like. Oklahoma got an up close look at it last year and Cincy got a good look at it this year. To put it simply, there is a reason why the SEC has won 4 straight National Titles and Boise's conference has not.

Yawn. I really don't care. I highly doubt 90% of country cares about Boise State.

Mid-major conferences don't get the merit they deserve, I'll give people that. I have always enjoyed watching games from Conference USA or MWC. But if anyone thinks teams from those conferences can play with the SEC or Big 12, well we saw what happened when Georgia crushed Hawaii a couple of years ago. People have to realize that the talent level and coaching in the SEC or Big 12 or even the Big 10 is much greater then the mid-majors. There are exceptions of course, but for the most part, the big name conferences get the glory.

Teams are so angry with Shipley's performance. He just went from a 3rd rounder, to a high 2nd rounder after last night. He went from being a sleeper pick to a sexy slot receiver pick.

A lot of those people who root for those teams do not see the type of talent that comes out of the high schools in the southeast, and in states like Texas and Oklahoma. It's incredible. I already gave Boise their props, but I'll do it again. What they've managed to do out there for the past decade is impressive. They've dominated and they've shown that they can compete and beat the bigger name schools such as Oklahoma and TCU. However, to think that they'd be able to compete in any SEC division is just, well, it's just idiotic. Like I said, there is a reason... a very good one... that the SEC has won the past four national championships. The talent level down here is supremely higher than the talent level in the mid-major conferences.

:agree::agree::agree:

I am primarily an Auburn fan but also an Alabama fan (except when they play
Auburn). Having grown up in the South, I am also an SEC fan. I watched Joe Willy from the stands in the '60's; also, Snake and Hannah vs Spurrier; Pat Sullivan (Auburns 1st Heisman winner) to Terry Beasley. I was in Auburn's stadium when then freshman Bo Jackson played against then senior Herschel Walker for GA (Bo was better, btw, even then).

That said, imo, the SEC has had a sustained run of over 5 decades of football excellence. The reality is that no other conference has had the success of the SEC the last half century much less the last 10 years. Saban (great coach;bad guy) was asked by Wendy Nix yesterday what made the SEC so great. Saban replied, "We are the only conference I know of that, year in and year out, has 7, 8 or 9 great teams. That's what makes the SEC so tough."

Listen to Kontra, Boise fan. Boise St. has had a great run for a few years and you have every right to be proud of that. But understand, the entire SEC has had a great run for 5 decades.

Texas wins this game easily with McCoy. I thought it would boil down to McCoy vs McElroy since both team's had good defenses, and thought McCoy was the much better option at QB. McElroy played the game of his life vs. Florida, he will never play like that again.

Bama got extremely lucky to pull this one out. Shovel pass pick 6 with 18 seconds left in first half, true freshman QB, no real threat of a running game from Texas, and a costly fumble by Texas inside their own 10. Bama was not the best team in the nation this year. Florida was. And Texas was 2nd.

Texas was lucky to be in the champsionship game. They should have lost to Nebraska.

Bama played like crap in the first half yet they still scored 37 points altogether. McCoy would have helped Texas play better, but if you've watched both teams play this year, Bama was the better team.

I have no affiliation to either conference but I do believe Boise state would "compete" in the SEC....I am not saying they would win every game or just lose 1 but I do believe they are a very good team and they would be able to "compete" with SEC teams......I just thought it was crap to put Boise vs. TCU in the bowl game.....When the BCS is close like this season they should take the chance to pin the Boise's and TCU's against "premier" competition like the FLorida's......That is the only way that the smaller conferences will gain respect is by beating these teams.....

Boise State would be Vanderbilt in the SEC.

Regardless of the size, strength or reputation of conferences, the fact remains that we have no real clue as to who the best team is this year in college football. Personally I don't believe that Texas should have been in that game, they had too many iffy performances toward the end of the season.

I believe that the Tide were the best team this year but we will never know for sure as Boise were superb against TCU the other night. This year more than any other has led me to believe that there has to be some sort of playoff system brought in. I think it should be the top 8 teams go into a playoff system, you can play all the big bowl games after that has occurred.

That line I'll agree with. But if Boise played 'Bama 100 times I doubt they'd win more than 10. 10% sounds about right. Put Boise in the SEC and see what kind of record they end up with.

Of course Boise could compete in the SEC. I have no doubt. People are putting too much emphasis on conference affiliation.

Did you all see UConn totally dominate Steve Spurrier's South Carolina team? USC is a SEC team, right?

IMO, it literally means nothing to be just another team in a power conference. You need to get to the top of the conference to see the domination. Florida and Alabama are it. Yes, they would destroy Boise State. if you think Boise had a tough time with TCU's defense, they would be near blanked by Alabama.

The same goes for the Big 12. Texas got to see what a real defense plays like last night. Week in and week out, Texas plays defenses that offer the resistance of fleas!! I'm not saying they are not one of the top 3 teams in the nation, they definitely are, but go somewhere else if you're trying to convince me that I should respect the rest of the Big 12. I don't. I respect the DT from Nebraska, and after that I can't tell a difference between the Big 12 and Big East. Same thing with the Pac10 and the Big10 outside of Ohio State who is not being coached well at this point (poor QB Pryor looks lost).

I watch the Fiesta Bowl and I was disappointed in Boise's play, particularly in the heralded Boise QB who didn't look like he was very accurate or had much of an arm. I credit the coach for getting them to play hard, and he also has guts and an imagination. But Boise left plays all over the field against a vaunted TCU defense. Wide open guys, and the ball could not get there, and there were drops. That did not look like a top offense to me. I would take Cincy's offense over Boise's any day of the week, and we saw how Florida humiliated Cincy.

In short, you have 3 top teams this year, then about 10-12 others who performed equally but in truth could easily lose to teams ranked 15-35.

Lots of parity, and 3 dominating teams, 3 teams who also finish on top of the recruiting rankings regularly with USC.

USC, Texas, Bama, Florida.

Top recruiting classes year after year. Sometimes LSU slips in there and Ohio State.
