Speculation - Brandon Marshall to be dealt in March

Stop with the Brandon Marshall crap. The guy is a cancer and a shady dude all around. He is not Corey Dillon and Randy Moss who had incidences, but many were overblown. Marshall has done some really evil things on and off the field.

Myra would never let this guy come to the Patriots. He is a habitual woman beater.

I don't see where Marshall fits in. A) He will want a lot of money.

B) Moss, Welker, Marshall as the 3rd WR? Doesn't make sense to me. Pay a guy much less money who is actually a 3rd WR. Someone like a Gaffney.

I'm sure Myra would love having someone who's domestic issues have him one "strike" away from a half/whole year suspension added to the team, especially when he's done so well avoiding problems with a member of the Belichick tree out there in Denver.

If I had a penny for every time this dude was mentioned around Baltimore, I'd be rolling in Bob Kraft Money.

Moss is on the last year of his deal and who knows if Welker will ever be the same coming back from a serious injury. We need a WR for the future.

I'd take a chance at Marshall but he is going to cost more than a 2nd round pick. Even with his prima donna attitude he's still worth a 1st round pick.

If BB wants the guy Id be surprised if McDaniels wouldnt take a 2nd round pick for him. The tricky part is his contract.

As I'd said in the other thread, if I'm New England, I would ask Denver about Eddie Royal or ask Miami about Davone Bess.

Royal might be worth giving up a second round pick in 2010. While Bess could be worth a fourth round pick. Trying to acquire these players make more sense to me given the situation with Welker and the fact that you already have a top wide receiver in Randy Moss. Besides, you risk offending him by targeting Marshall. I say, let Chicago or another team deal with Marshall. Personally, I wouldn't touch either Marshall, Terrell Ownes or trade for Anquan Boldin.

Why would Denver give up Royal when they will likely be dealing Marshall not to mention hes their best young receiver and Bess isn't going anywhere unless Miami 2007 edition returns hes clearly working out well for them...

In regards to your comment if you look at Bess's salary, he will be available in the near future if Miami doesn't lock him up which would be surprising bearing an injury..
4/28/2008: Signed a two-year, $687,000 contract. The deal included a $7,000 signing bonus. 2009: $385,000, 2010: Exclusive Rights Free Agent

umm, devone bess sucks, whats with u guys? one game does not an NFL wr make

I think Anquan Boldin will be available as well. This guy is hard-nosed and can work the middle of the field so welker doesn't have to take so many hits. I think the cards want a first and a third so pats could maybe use their first in 2011 (not oakland's) and maybe a fourth since they don't have a third this year.

Take it from someone who lives here in Denver. This guy only needs a fresh start. Next year is uncapped. Time for Krafty to spend some of that money he has been making from Patriot place. Pats won't go anywhere next season with that BRUTAL schedule unless they have another playmaker on offense.

Mike Wallace, Johnny Knox, Austin Collie, Deon Butler, and more, were all taken in the 3rd, 4th, 5th, rounds.

Here's an idea: instead of trading draft picks away for old scrubs, or trading them into next season, etc., draft a few of these guys that showed they can run routes and catch the ball in college. Granted, some will be unable to catch on in the Patriots system, but you have much greater degree of success with training a rookie than you do with a veteran who is set in his ways.

Deion Branch, David Givens, Troy Brown.

Yes, I know about Chad Jackson and Bethel Johnson, both outstanding physical specimens. Next time, just go after the WRs who actually showed they played the position well in college, even if some lack height and others top end speed.

I agree, especially since we have a decent amount of picks in this years draft..but it all depends on our needs going into the draft.

Agreed. Next year is uncapped and you never know about Welker suffering a setback. Moss won't be around forever. This guy wasn't a really a problem child on the team with Shanahan but got off to a rocky start with McDaniels. Obviously has had some off field issues but I get the feeling he's learned his lesson. Pay the big money to two guys next year (Moss and Marshall) and then let Moss walk after 2010. You get Marshall essentially taking over the big money that was paid to Moss. That sets you up for 2011 with Marshall, Welker, Tate, Edelman. Two first rounds picks in 2011, so if Tate never works out you can draft one from that great class of WR - Green, Jones, Floyd, Baldwin.

Marshall is such a physical WR I would absolutely love to add him. He fights through coverage and is just a freak. I love that he plays with a chip on his shoulder and is so hard to tackle in the open field.

Marshall was a cancer under Shanahan. And now he is a cancer under McDaniels. I don't know how a change of scenery is going to change his tendencies to hit women. The guy needs to do some jail time.

As for the schedule next year, who knows how hard it going to be. We all thought that the Titans, Falcons, and Panthers were going to be much tougher teams when we saw the schedule before the season. Predicting how tough a schedule is going in the next season before the current season is even over is an exercise in futility.

Ummm..... Marshall was a problem child with Shanahan. I don't think he got suspended last year for awesome team work.

I think he has learned that when he beats his girlfriend make sure she can't get to the phone until he can sweet talk her not to call the police. According to reports, the police have been called to his house dozens of times for domestic disturbances and several domestic battery incidents.

The guy is scum. It is only a matter of time before he faces an 8 game or 16 game suspension. He lucked out this summer that he was acquitted of a domestic battery case that seemed pretty clear he was guilty of.

I wonder how many times he used that chip on his shoulder to beat his girlfriends.

BTW, for those of you who think Marshall wasn't a problem under Shanahan, well Shanahan now has final say on a team that has the most money with the owner who is the least afraid to write a check for big name players no matter the cost with potentially no cap. How much you wanna bet that the Redskins don't go anywhere near a trade for Marshall?

He was suspended by the league last year, not by Shanahan. He had off the field issues but was not a bad teammate. This year he was a cancer on the team because of the way he acted during training camp. The guy wanted to be paid and was upset with Cutler being dealt, so he was acting like *****.

The guy can play football. He's an elite talent and if I could trade a 2nd round pick for him, I'd take him in an instant.
