I'm glad you pointed it out! :D

What they won't playing until they are 50?

Not only that, but I doubt the team would be undefeated if Harrison, Bruschi, Vrabel, and Seymour were still here.

Correct. I can only laugh at some of the posts on this board. Most of the people complaining about the "inexperienced" defense were the same ones calling the defense "old and slow" the past 3 years.

BB can't win for losing.

Except this time we have an inconsistent offense and a poor defense

How is this a poor defense, look at the body of work not just a couple of games here n there. The defense may not be shut down or intimidating but they are far from poor.

Exactly. Can anybody name a shut down or intimidating defense in the NFL in 2009? The offensive-friendly rules have taken all of those away.

I was focusing on more of the poor defense part

The defense isn't poor. They have given up points sure. But look at the T.O.P. for the 4th quarter and the offenses over all stats in the 4th quarter. 5 of Brady's 13 picks have been in the 4th quarter, we don't score in the 4th quarter, I would be willing to say that a disproportionately high percentage of our 3 and outs are in the 4th quarter. So I don't blame the defense for giving up points, when the offense can't stay on the field or at least push the field position back in the defenses favor.

*Corrected my statement about Brady's 4th quarter INT's.*

You're right

Who is at fault for our team getting beaten into the ground during the second half of nearly every road game they've played this year then

Look at all the key vet defenders the Pats lost this past off season. Seymour, Bruschi, Vrable, Harrison and Hobbs. Majority of those players have been replaced with either rookies or first year players, considering that they've done an awesome job.

Check out this quote Mayo had in a Herald article...

Jerod Mayo not satisfied - BostonHerald.com

“At the end of the day, our scoring defense is top five,” said Mayo, whose unit is tied for third with 16.7 points per game. “People can talk as bad as they want to about this defense, but you take away a couple bad games, and people might be talking about this being a No. 1 defense.”

^This

People tend to forget that there are no defenses even close to be shut down. The Jets are "close" but the Patriots, Jaguars, and Dolphins smacked them around.

it's not their fault. they're only regurgitating the garbage that espn is feeding them. thankfully, i stopped paying attention to espn's analysis a long time ago. totally useless and usually wrong. not a good combination.

Greetings pats fans! It's been a while, happy new year to one and all.

Nice to see the pats back in the post season. It's looking like situation normal in the pats nation. Tough break there with Welker but life goes on. TB will prolly end up making Edelman a star at some point.

I'd like to extend my best wishes to the nation this Sunday. I'd be surprised if the pats don't prevail. When's the last time NE lost at home in the post season? What, isn't it like 8-0 at home since 01 or something like that?

Anyway, if SD gtets the pats I'm sure it'll be a great game. I've got no predictions right now but I'm betting the best team that day will win. ;)
