Just going to mention it.

He's buried the Texans stadium staff there.

Re: BB on WEEI

Whoa.....I didn't think of that.

Of course, our field used to be fairly horrible too.

Fred mentioned it but he sort of waved it passed. To be fair, there's a huge difference between a poor real grass pitch where you can still slide your foot about, and one of these Turf things where it's actually quite sticky and you can get your studs caught.

BB commented on this as well saying that the old Gillette turf was consistantly soft and slow, but the Houston turf was inconsistent because some spots were hard and others soft. He said immediately upon stepping on the field he was concerned with it

He actually admitted that. He did go on to say that "at least it was consistent in all the spots".

I disagree. It had grass on the sides and mud in the middle.

Re: BB on WEEI

Wow, for someone who usually says little as possible, that's quite a revealing comment from BB.

Re: BB on WEEI

Well, I'm sure some of you are already thinking this but if he was immediately concerned with it, why play Brady so much?

Well the QB position doesnt require a lot of movement and cutting so the turf wouldnt really effect Brady that much. I dont know what his plan for Welker was because he got hurt on the 3rd play of the game, but if it was really a concern I dont think he would have played much beyond the 1st quarter.

Re: BB on WEEI

Very interesting, wonder if Goodell will remain silent on this???

Yeah, I think you are right. I don't think the starters would have gone beyond the first quarter if not for the injury. Maybe first half.

"Who has been more wrong than charlie casserly ? He is like a meteorologist". he sounds quite chippy today

Re: BB on WEEI

Interesting that BB mentioned the playing surface at the Texan's stadium. I was reading a thread on Welker's injury at a Colts forum yesterday and a couple of posters said the injury was probably due to ****ty field at that stadium. They should know better because they are in the same division.

He seems very upbeat today. He has revealed a lot. Hes comfortable with Fred, Steve, Pete and the Big O, but usually doesnt ever reveal this much.

Re: BB on WEEI

Was chatting w/ a blogger who follows the Texans during last night's SNF travesty. She said that Texans players themselves ***** about the the area of the field where Welker went down.

Apparently, because of the way they grow the real grass under the retractable roof, there are a few patches that stay slick for a while after there's been weather, while the rest of the field is perfectly dry.

Nice! An angry BB could be bad for the Ravens...:)

also means that he didnt care about yesterday's game as much. normally after a loss is he pissed. infact the hosts asked him that he seems to have a bounce in his step today....

Re: BB on WEEI

Wow, BB in a very spiky mood today.

Love it.

Re: BB on WEEI

Ordway notes BB relative ebullience, and BB attributes it to being in the playoffs. BB seems pumped, IMO. :)

Re: BB on WEEI

fact is, if BB was actually concerned about the field, he should have sat the starters....at least the skill guys.......and when the commish would come a calling, then lay into the field......now its kinda too late
