Roster addition?

BB isn't gonna go grab some WR for the game. There isn't an FA floating around that are so good, they could get the timing down with Brady in less than a week. Edelman will be playing the roll of WW, there isn't a free agent out there that could do it better as anyone else doesn't know the plays.

BB will promote someone from the PS.

Troy Brown?

I'm kidding but . . . maybe this year's Roosevelt Colvin signing will be Reche Caldwell. I know, it's not happening but I would have said the same about Colvin just before he was signed last year.

The roster addition will be Richard. He will be signed up thru 2010.

I agree that we should bring up Richard. I don't see the point with signing him through 2010 instead of 2011 like everyone else. In any case, he's an ERFA so we will ahve his rights.

Bring back Doug Gabriel!

Did Galloway ever get picked up by somebody else? Depending on how bad Aiken was hurt, we need somebody in addition to the Edelman promotion.

Pittsburgh, to replace Limas Sweed when he went on IR....

Given that several players will be inactive, what is the point of a roster addition or two (for Welker and perhaps Aiken) other than to have them on the team at season's end in order to retain rights to the player forr 2010?

So...they will have only 3 in the WR position??? Welker gone..AIken injured.....They will bring in a WR...Jenkins I am thinking....they also need to practice..and going into a game with only 3 is not good at all...even IF Aiken recovers...

I'm in the minority, but I would be in favor of that. Heck, I would've liked to see them do that the minute we released Galloway. The fact that we haven't leads me to believe that we won't.

If Aiken's injury keeps him out, could very well be the case that they enter playoffs with Moss and Edelman as the only two true WRs, along with Stanback and Slater (neither of which has yet to show he can play WR). Scary thought. They do get to dress a player that would not otherwise have dressed because of the injury, but that could be someone like BJGE, Seau or a defensive lineman not named Brace. If they do that, then they also have no KO returner (unless it's Wheatley, which seems unlikely). Difficult to pick the 45 without knowing the injuries, but for all the cost management, WR looks frighteningly thin even if they do play 2 TEs most of the game.

I say this in all seriousness, but it's too bad Galloway was signed by Pittsburgh, I could imagine us bringing him in now if he weren't. As bad as he looked, you have to consider that he could at least be a useful body across from Moss.

Might see a lot of 2 TE, 2 RB one WR stuff.

Why is there even a hesitation from BB for getting this guy back in the fold?....

Co-sign this.

I like any package that limits the amount of CBs the opposition has on the field at this point. Typically, we go for the opposite - we try to get the 3rd & 4th CBs on the field to cover our other WRs. This season, our 3rd & 4th wide receivers are sometimes not as good as the opposition's 3rd & 4th CBs, which is a problem. Now, it's even more drastic.

Put the best 11 offensive players on the field, and I think you end up with either 2TE/2RB or 2TE/1RB, or 3TE*/1RB...

*Levoir as extra TE/tackle.
