Re: Hey, Bob Costas:

What he said could have been worse.

He is a smug douche, but in this instance I didn't find him too disgusting. What bothered you?

The glee he took in discuss the Pats downfall. What's the point? The Pats aren't even in this game. Funny he didn't mention the Giants, who went from winning the SB two years ago to not making the playoffs. Or the Steelers. Or Jax. Why have a segment pointing out how far the Pats have fallen?

Re: Hey, Bob Costas:

Agree...Bob Costas is a little tiny douchebag. Why he has any credibility is beyond me...the whole Football Night in America (except Rodney) ar a bunch of tools...especially that scumbag Olberman.

Fair enough.

Still, people talking about us must mean we are still feared, so I will take it.

Out of all the teams to show a "downfall" he chose the pats. The Steelers or Giants would have been a great choice, not the #3 seeded Patriots.

its beyond stupid to run a story like that. but if being a three or a four seed is considered a down fall for the pats that's a compliment really. other teams have down falls and go 6 and 10. the pats are in a down fall and win the division lmao. that's nbc for ya.

Didn't see it, but I can certainly image it.

Giants and Broncos start 5-0 and don't make the playoffs. Last two Super Bowl winners don't make the Playoffs. The Patriots do so after not making the Playoffs the previous year and there needs to be a segment on the weak Patriots? Shows some obsession.

You think Tom Coughlin and Mike Tomlin are gloating about the Patriots tonight? Don't think so.

Re: Hey, Bob Costas:

I don't know how Rodney puts up with all of those douches.

it's actually a back-handed compliment.

...the recognition outside New England (we knew it all along) grows with each passing week that the Giants win was a fluke two years ago and...

...now that no one's going for perfection and Lord Favregaard has had a cat fight with his coach on the sidelines,

...there is really only one story in the NFL this decade: The New England Patriots.

Sure, we'd all like the story to be how we went 14--2, humiliated the Colts at home, sent Drew Brees to an early shower in the 'dome, broke a bunch of (our own) records and are sitting in Foxboro with home field advantage all the way...but it isn't.

But, we're still the biggest story line...and we ain't done yet this year, whatever Costas says!

i wonder the same thing about teddy working with those asshats at espn.

what happened

what happened

Costas ran a segment at halftime that went something like this...

http://www.patsfans.com/new-england...s-jets-game-discussion-page3.html#post1671829

...though to his credit, he still suggested it would be risky to bet against Brady and Belichick in a game where everything is at stake. Which... I don't know how he ran that conclusion, given that everything in that presentation suggested that everyone stick a fork in the Patriots, that the past is the past, etc.

Cause either way he can point back to it and say "Told you so".

I missed what he said, but why not talk about the downfall of the Steelers who went from NFL Champions to missing the playoffs? The Pats are going to be the 3 seed and as we saw with the Cards ;ast year, the Giants the year before, the Colts before that, and the Steelers before that; a team that doesn't look Super Bowl worthy going into the playoffs has made the Super Bowl each of the last 4 years and three of them have won it.

Soooo...all these years I thought Costas was boring, overrated, never could figure out why he even had a talk show or anything and really the only thing I guess he knows a lot about is baseball, about which I could really give a flying eff (no offense to our resident baseball fans), because the World Series is only something to keep me semi-occupied sports-wise once hockey and even friggen basketball is over and football hasn't started yet, so why do they have him commentating on football, he was bad enough to make me think that even Joe Buck was better at it...then last year he was the lone vote for BB as coach of the year, so I tried not to hate him as much. WELL, ITS ALL OVER NOW DOUCHEY MCSUCK!

I hope they replay that segment in the Pats locker room all week. We're in the tournament, anything can happen. We're missing Welker but everyone else is healthy, we can still win it all
