Re: OT : Say it ain't so...

The day I take my sports que from G-Q is the day hell freezes over.

Nothing to see here execpt some *** trying to make a name for himself and pander to the yuppies who buy that magazine.

And for the record BB and/or Bobby Knight (#5 on this bleep-heads list) could coach my kid anytime.

Agree with you on BB and Knight....they may have been the bane of the media and still are, but at least they knew the sport....

Re: OT : Say it ain't so...

I love all these places/sites/columnists....whoever....who do the XX most despicable list....XX most hated list.....whatever the "list maybe."

I'd love to see the "classiest list"...or "most likeable" list. Who's coaching it? Someone who cries....loves god and family and plays the game the right way (a phrase i want banned in this decade!)

Must need caffeine. Edgy!

Re: OT : Say it ain't so...

so despicable that they are in the HoF. Goes to show you that what the media thinks, and what the Hall thinks are based on different priorities.

Very true. Amazing how low the media will go to make a great person down so far...

You nailed it. Can someone please tell me why BB's personal life is talked about AT ALL?!?! I really don't care who he's sleeping with because it has nothing to do with footbal!

I am no sick of this "good vs. evil" argument when it comes to the Pats. Yeah sorry it just so happens that the best team of the decade comes from a blue state who lets 2 men marry. Get over it!

Bill Belichick and despicable do not work in the same sentence, this is one of the most idiotic articles have ever seen... don't let Borges know..

Who votes people into the Hall?

GQ? Everybody knows the only way into the HOF is thru Maxim Magazine! They have an annual poll sponsored by AXE Body Spray and Red Bull!

Yeah, he's so despicable that 31 other teams would be stampeding over each other to get him if he ever announced he was leaving NE. What tripe.

"Plays the game the right way" is definitely one of my favorite pious smuggeries, along with "we(they) just wanted it more."

Ditka should be on that list. He allows his team to make a video about the Super Bowl BEFORE they ever play in one. He trades all his draft picks for one player. He calls out the Patriots for running up the score when he did the same thing in SB20. Most despicable thing he did was letting "Refrigerator" Perry score from the one, instead of letting Walter Peyton, one of the best RBs ever, get a TD is the SB. That was all about humiliating the Patriots.

You get my point though, yeah? How do you feel about Borges? How would you feel if Borges is voting people into the Hall?

The statement made earlier was that "the Media" has a different agenda than the Hall.

Borges does vote people into the hall of fame. In fact, he's the one who "presents" and "makes the case" for anyone from New England.

For instance, when BB's elligilble, if Borges still is the New England representative at that time, he will present BB to the HOF committee. I know John Clayton and Peter King are on the committee as well.

....but he's a really good dad, a very loyal friend, stops to help total strangers involved in auto accidents and despises brainless egomaniacal dopes otherwise known as the "spawts media".
What's not to love?? ;)
Bill Belichick is a really good guy who has an invitation to sit at my dinner table any day of the week.

Ditka can f*ck off.

Well, there goes GQ's prospects for a future article on Brady.

And isn't it strange that some of the most despised coaches are also the most successful in their respective sports?

Oh, well. He may be one of the most despised, but since he found his way into GQ he must look good with that reputation. The evening wear gray hoodie - an excellent choice for the occasion.:)

I have read enough about BB to know that he's probably a great guy, and much different off-field than the impression he gives on it.

But what most people see is on field. While most other coaches in the league take time, win or lose, to shake hands after a game and even have conversations with the other coaches, BB always (9 times out of 10) does his quick glance & one pump handshake thing. It may seem like a small criticism, but it is what people think of.

And he does run up the score when he gets the chance. Other coaches do as well (Jimmy Johnson comes readily to mind).
