He announced he is coming out this year. Most mocks I looked at had him going in the late 2nd Round.
Some on here want us to take C.J. Spiller but I have read that Best is a good receiver out of the backfield and maybe a possible replacement for Faulk? He is fast..... top speed (4.42) as quick as any back in the country.

If we address pass rush and OL before this he may be a good pick imo. thoughts

One of the biggest knocks against Best is he is a huge liability in the passing game -- his blitz pickup is terrible. Tedford took him out at times in obvious passing situations.

Dexter McCluster, however, is solid in pass protection.

He's not very big 5'8 - 165 lbs. and he's listed as a Wide Receiver | Ole Miss | SR Dexter McCluster
Is this the same player?

Yes, same player. He plays RB for Ole Miss, but will play WR at the Senior Bowl. He is very small, but doesn't play like it.

McCluster is definitely a weapon, but picking up blitzers in college is much easier than picking up blitzers in the pros. Guys are much bigger, stronger, and faster in the pros and you'd have to wonder how a 5-8 165 guy would hold up. You can say Sproles has held up so far, but he's more built than McCluster, being 5-6 185. I just don't think McCluster has the strength to come in immediately and do what we need him to. Maybe if Faulk is re-signed for a year and McCluster can add some bulk, but then that might take away from some of his quickness and speed.

I prefer Spiller over everyone. Been a huge fan of his for the last 3 years and would love to see my favorite college player in a Pats uniform. I like Best as well, but as stated he's had trouble picking up the blitz.

I have no idea why Best would fall to the bottom of round two, and have a hard time seeing it happen. However, even though I think we should go OG and DE with our first couple of picks in the draft, I would love to see BB go after Best if he's available late in the first round or in the second round. This kid is a beast of a running back and would present defenses with a ton of match-up problems in our offense.

I think Toby Gerhart should be used with one of our 3 2nd round picks. We haven't had a power back since Dillon. Picture a power back in our offense that isn't 30+ years old.

I would love any back that can run like Dillon. Clock killing Dillion!

Back injuries and concussions are really serious, tricky and potentially reoccurring things. And he has had both this season. I think the doctor's will play a huge part in determining his final grade.

And I have to wonder if he is declaring because he does not want to share time with his understudy next season or if he is afraid he will be the understudy next season.
