Peyton Manning is #2, Tom Brady is #1. :0

Wow, I'm surprised the NFL didn't select Peyton as #1.

At least NFL.com has some sense. Being a Pats fan aside it's hard to argue against someone with the second most winning team this decade with 3 super bowl rings.

It would be idiotic to say Manning has done more. He may be more talented but he has yet to accomplish as much

I am shocked at no Randy Moss. Totally got hosed in the pro bowl and this nonsense. Moss is an absolute hands down no brainer in my opinion. Especially after the '07 season

There is no wrong choice between Tommy and Peyton. Both are worthy of the top spot. They should just put the name "Peyton Brady" or "Tom Peyton" in the #1 spot and rank the rest of the pack.

You sound like a Cots fan with that bolded line. It's crazy to not count postseason games. With that count, we are the team with the most wins.

Yes, the list is not that great, leaving out the likes of Moss, Polamalu etc. But they got #1 right, that's all I care about.

My points was that Colts fans and Manning ballwashers put a lot of stock in that and think it's truly significant

They all seem to look over the fact that the Pats are only 4 regular season wins back

Good one, I like all the defensive player they took, sometimes we forget the importance of D , but if LT is #3 Moss deserves at least be #9 , TD records, 16-0 , absolutely dominance ... yeah , I Know he struggles a couple of year in Oakland, but LT struggles too since 2008

I think it's stupid to even attempt to debate who is better. Brady runs the playoffs where Manning is a regular season hero.

So you dont value his performance in the pressure packed playoffs over Peytons regular series heroics? Huh?

Of course I value it

But it's a stupid argument. Manning doesn't have atrocious playoff stats. Sure he only has one ring but it's not like he's just some chode who lucked his way in.

He's a phenomenal QB and to disagree makes you completely ignorant

Personally, I'd flip a coin between Peyton and Tommy. I'm glad it went to Brady, because I've always been a Montana over Marino guy, believing that championships trump stats in the final analysis. But, Manning's stats are awesome and will get more so over the next couple of years.

The truth of course is that this wouldn't even be a discussion if they call Eli in the grasp or if Tyree doesn't make the magic helmet catch or if Asante doesn't miss an INT. Four rings and three SB MVP's would have ended the argument forever.

But, "What might have been" are the four saddest words that can be spoken. In that way, the NFL is so like life.

I've always thought that Passer Ratings were biased toward those QB's in domes and those that played in good weather. I ran career passer ratings for road games because I thought it would be a leveler of sorts. I know passer ratings are only one component of the quality of QB's. The results:

1. Philip Rivers 95.6

2. Tom Brady 92.8

3. Tony Romo 92.1

4. Peyton Manning 91.7

5. Kurt Warner 90.9

6. Ben Roethlisberger 90.8

7. Carson Palmer 90.0

8. Drew Brees 89.0

9. Chad Pennington 88.9

10. Eli Manning 86.3

That's a very interesting stat. Thanks for the work. Could you let us know your methodology and data source?

For me, Tom Brady is head and shoulders above Peyton Manning for one solid reason: Leadership. I cannot remember a SINGLE time where Brady threw one of his team mates under the bus. I cannot remember a single time when TB didn't take the blame for a loss on his self, and, in a win, praise everyone else for THEIR work.

THAT right there is the mark of a true leader, rather than just a game manager.

I think Moss should have made it over Brandon Marshall IMO.

I guess you can't buy into the Colts argument 16-0 doesn't matter only championships matter and say Peyton is better with only 1 championship.

The Video wont play for me but honestly if Brandon Marshall is on the list over Randy Moss its total Bull****.

Moss has more yards (1189 to 1120), more touchdown catches (13-10) and a higher YPC average (15.2 to 11.1).
