OT: Brandon Marshall benched for season finale

Let's trade for him. Seems like a great guy!

Maybe we could trade AD for him. Equal trade of benched-for-attitude guys. :D

Its sad he made the probowl over Moss because he's a whiny diva. You would think that would hurt his chances, not help.

I thought he and McDaniels had patched things up.

They're benching Scheffler for attitude, too.

Actually I think he was mentioned as a free agent, but who cares? These attitude cases aren't good for the team.

I'll reserve judgment on AD for now. There have been cases of personality conflicts being smoothed over before. Not saying that's the case, but let's leave it to the judgment of the F.O. who evaluated Dillon and Moss.

Compare the over 30 Thomas to the 25 year old Marshall and there's quite a difference. When your WIKI page gives this explanation of an injury totally apart from the section with arrests for drunken driving and assaulting women and police, that should be a clue...

On March 22, 2008, Marshall slipped on an empty McDonald's bag while wrestling with family members, and subsequently, fell through a television set at his home in Orlando, Florida - cutting his right forearm

Yeah, right.

I'm kind of on the fence with this whole McDaniels/Marshall situation from the beginning. Maybe Marshall is a whiny diva. But maybe McDaniels is an arrogant ***hat. I have a feeling both of these are true to an extent. A lot of it probably comes down to Marshall thinking "why should I play and risk injury or my career for a prick that won't pay me my due, especially since I already know I'm not gonna be here next season." Someone WILL take him. Some team WILL pay him. Whatever the case, I'd be completely shocked to see BMarsh in a Broncos jersey next season. Gutsy call on McDaniel's part....as they NEED a WIN 9and a whole lotta outside help) for a playoff shot. Seems like both Marshall and McDaniels have already mailed it in.

Maybe Marshall punched his ticket out of town with the latest problem. What would you guys give up for him?

Who?? The Steelers?? I don't know where he'll land, but it won't be with the Steelers. Our organization isn't known for bringing in problems OR for spending money on high-profile players. I have to say though, I wouldn't mind seeing him in a Steeler jersey. Dude's got skill, there's no denying that.

You find a lot out more about a players character when a team is losing or backed into a corner than you do when it's winning. More often than not it's a teams core and not elite talent than pulls it through when everyone else has given up on it, and selfish egos as opposed to lack of talent that tear it down when it otherwise still had a shot. Coaches deal with the issue differently, level of talent and desperation of situation frequently being the determining factors, but they all know it exists.

Left to his own devices Marshall probably would have seriously screwed the pooch on his own career this season out of the gate. Josh allowed for him to shine to the tune of a pro bowl selection. But now that it appears he got his and the team may fall short of their's, he's gonna act out. Wouldn't want him here for that reason. Our transitional core is a little fragile yet for dealing with self absorbed problem children.

He will be a RFA unless a new CBA is agreed to. Either way Denver will trade him and draft for a replacement because they know now talent aside you can't win with him. Someone more desperate to will choose to overlook character and believe they can. Although heading into a potential lockout season in 2011 he may be disappointed at the terms of any deal he gets.

If by attitude they mean we aren't going to make the playoffs so we don't want our offensive MVP getting hurt in a meaningless game

then yes, it's his attitude

Our integrity?

No

Brandon could be brought here with the same thing Moss had. We'll see how you do, but if you don't perform or bring in drama we'll cut you loose.

I think he would be very happy here. With Moss and Welker on the field Brady would decimate teams. Coverage would be spread so thin trying to cover Moss and Marshall Welker would get even more catches than he does now and the he could exploit weak coverages if they let up on either Moss or Marshall at any point.

Put yourself in Marshall's shoes for a second. It was a smart move on his part. He's not going to risk millions of dollars for one game. All it takes is one play. There's no argument here, you'd do the same thing. Had the Broncos paid him the money he deserves, he'd play.

Im starting to wonder if Mcdaniels is going to be one of those coaches that has so much confidence in his scheme that he thinks he can win with a bunch of crappy players.

Cutler, Scheffler and Marshall were their 3 most talented players. It'll be interesting too see what he does this off season.

Yeah, let's bring in Brandon Marshall so that when he is the third target on 85% of the passing plays he can just sit and pout.

Some guys you can change, some you can't. I don't think anyone can change Marshall. Just like Terrell Owens. He hasn't said anything really nasty, but he knows he's done if he does. So he's being an undercover "good boy"

Randy Moss had a rep, but I've always been a believer that all he wants to do is win.

Answer me this:

Would Wes Welker do the same thing?
