People on here seem to be pissed about the fact about playing the Ravens. Yeah their D is good but their CB's SUCK. Is there a realistic chance they will actually beat us at home?

No, but they are a tough, physical team. I'd rather get into a track meet in the wildcard round than a smashmouth game. Especially with the next opponent coming off of several weeks rest.

There corners do suck, the Ravens would need to put Brady on his ass throughout the game to have a decent chance of winning. Their front 7 is capable, but they dont particularly scare me no.

Yeah I would like to play the Ravens

you should be more concerned with Ray Rice from Rutgers running and receiving for the Ravens. "And Rut-roh!"

This year, the Ratbirds always find a way to lose. Very undisciplined team.

I'm not afraid of any team, but the Ravens may be the team I'd least want to play first round after the Squealers. They almost beat us in Gilette earlier in the season and it seems like a physical matchup that could take a toll, even if we win we'll be facing a fresh team the following week.

I don't know about fear but every team would be tough. The broncos eviscerated us in denver...I think they'd be easier at sea level on the road (for them), but even they would be tough.

Steelers aren't really that good although they do blitz a lot and that could result in tom terrific being battered a bit.

But anything can happen.

Wacko Flacco has a rifle arm and played pretty well in the first meeting.

I'm not sure that many are "afraid" of the ravens. We would prefer to play Denver.

Actaully, I might prefer that we play Jacksonville, but that is a long shot.

Yeah, the Ravens are a scary team to play. Good pass O, good D and lot's of veterans. Plus, if you are superstitious, we have yet to lose a playoff game at Gillette and yet to lose to the Ravens period. I don't like any of those factoids, even my special unwashed undies can't ward off those facts, we're due.....

Not sure why the Jets and Broncos are the most coveted opponents. I think we should want to play the team that lets Moss and Welker have breakout games. The Jets and Broncos are the most concerning opponents I think, because their secondary can frustrate our wideouts and make our offense go stale. Remember 2001 how elementary our offense was and you know what happened. I have this weird feeling the Jets upset the Bengals in the wild card and get cremated after that, but still....I don't want part of this divisional opponent.

The Ravens have a bad secondary, so do the Dolphins, Texans, and Steelers. Despite this, they can score points and generate yards too, but not sure they are disciplined and "clutch" enough to beat the Pats.

They're also a very undisciplined team - they lost to the Steelers b/c of a bunch of boneheaded penalties. That's NOT going to get you far in the playoffs.

I'm afraid of any team that laces them up and steps between the lines on any Sunday in today's NFL.

I'm especially afraid of any team that survives a 16 game season to make the Playoffs and knows that every game from now on could become their last shot for that long season.

And, I'm especially, especially afraid of a team that makes the Playoffs with a tough D and that would come into Foxboro with a chip on its shoulder about the October game.

NOTE: in this context, "Afraid" doesn't mean "quivering in a corner" afraid, but "really respectful of a solid, strong team" afraid.

did you see the game we played verse them earlier this year. they were a dropped pass away from victory...theyre good. ray rice owned us

They were good in the 1st 1/3 part of the year, but they've regressed quite a bit then.

They also beat San Diego, but San Diego was struggling then.

IOW - it's not who you play, but when you play them.

It wasn't just the dropped pass, there were several defensive penalties against the ratbirds late in the game that helped the Pats score. They are one of the top 5 teams penalized. They have had multiple players choke at the end of games to lose. Their kicker against the Vikes, Mason last week against the Steelers. No discipline at all.

If it's the Patriot team who played them earlier this year - yes!!
Be afraid be very afraid of the Ravens.
If it's the Patriot team who showed up against the Jaguars - no!!
Game won't be close if that Patriot team shows up against the Ravens.
In fact, if that Patriot team shows up in the playoffs they could win a Super Bowl. We just don't know from week to week what team we're getting and that is the problem.
And forget what happens Sunday. The key players will be rested for long stretches in that game so if the Pats lose don't fret about that.

the ravens are scary b.c of their veteran d, good running game, and a good qb. they are a physical team built for the playoffs.

even though there is virtually no chance of us playin the jets, i'd prefer to play them b.c i dont think they can score with us. sanchez isnt good enough yet to consistently move the chains. they only put up 16 vs us without mayo and then only 14 in foxboro with 7 of the 14 being from a blocked punt td. even if their d holds us to 20, im still very confident we would win the game b.c the nfl is a qb driven league and sanchez isnt at the point yet where he can be counted on to consistently put points on the board.

Is there a realistic chance? You're joking right? You realize the only reason they didn't win here the first time is because Clayton dropped a ball that was right in his hands? I'm not saying I would pick them necessarily, but it's basically a toss up.
