Re: Brady says he'll play full game.

Good, I want the Pats to try for the #3 seed. At least they may have a chance for the AFCCG at Gillette.

Re: Brady says he'll play full game.

I think that is a little mis-leading. could be the case but.............

I read that and it seemed to me like Brady was saying he is ready and willing to to play the whole game but not that he has been told he will be playing the whole game but that he was told he will be playing.

thanks for pointing that out, but a link would have been appreciated unless he said it on air.

Bill Belichick to Tom Brady: 'You'll play' - Patriots Blog - ESPN Boston

Here's the quote from the Brady:

"My dad said 'Are you guys going to this play this week?' Of course I want to play. I don't want to lose a game. You don't just forfeit these games. [:D —ctpatsfan77] Playing Houston, I don't want to see one of them in the offseason and them saying 'Hey, we beat you guys.' Screw that. You have to go out there and play."

Brady was also asked if he expects to stay in the entire game if the score is close.

"Sure," he responded. "Close game. Blowout. We get behind. I'm expecting to play the whole game. I wouldn't see why I wouldn't."

Re: Brady says he'll play full game.

Wow, I'm not so much shocked by this as by the team tipping their hand.

Re: Brady says he'll play full game.

Reading what I assume was the referenced article (link below), what Brady says is:

"As players, we obviously don't factor into any of those decisions that coach Belichick makes....It's our job to prepare to play and I certainly am...."

and

"I'm expecting to play the whole game. I wouldn't see why I wouldn't."

From the thread header, you might draw the conclusion that he had been told by BB that he'll play the "full game," which, as we all know, is the only way he would know he was doing so. The title of the article is that he has been told he'll play, but not that he'll play the full game.

Yup that's the way I read it too

Agreed. I think #12 plays through the first series in the 3rd Q and that's it -- regardless of score.

Awesome! This means Bradys 100%...right?

Re: Brady says he'll play full game.

They're bluffing.

Brady will be pulled after we're up 42-3. :D

Seriously ... is one game really going to change Hoyer into an NFL ready QB?

It would be nice to think that one game would prepare him better ... I just doubt it.

So I hope Tom plays and we try to win ... because that's why they play the game ... to win.

Brady plays the first half, then it's Hoyer time.
I am actually looking forward to see how the kid does.....

I think the Pats play to win and leave Brady in as long as it takes, certainly through most of the third quarter. In the last month, we've beaten a couple of decent teams playing with .500 or so records and we won our first game on the road. Now, I think it's more important to beat a team with a winning record on the road (something we haven't done yet and will have to do in the Playoffs) than it is to rest the starters.

This. I think the only chance Brady has of being pulled from the game is if it's impossible for Houston to win. Hoyer comes in to take a knee and end the game.

respects,

Good.

What the Colts did last week was disgraceful. I want the Patriots to be the anti-Colts.

Also, two road wins against Tampa Bay in London and the Buffalo Bills isn't exactly a great track record. This game in Houston is a chance to play all four quarters against a good team on the road and come away with a win.

In 2006, the AFC Championship game against the Colts was @ Indy because we were the #4 seed and they were the #3. There is no way I want to play @San Diego, but I sure as hell don't want to play @Cincinnati for the AFC Championship.

Let's see if we measure up with the Chargers in the second round. If we don't, we don't, but let's not go trying to duck out of tough matchup.
