Despite coming onto the active roster only halfway through the season (7 games), Arrington is now tied with Woods for ST tackle totals at 17. He also leads the ST with 12 solos.

He is also a CB.

No question that the team likes him. As you point out, hes been outstanding.

Well, I don't think that his special teams play necessarily translates into him being an as good, or better CB than what we have out there.

But yes, his play on special teams has been solid, and he will most likely be part of that core in 2010, along with Ninkovich and probably Alexander.

Hes only 5-10 but yeah his ST play has been good, often one of the first players to the returner..

If he can cover, he will be more physical than anyone we have out there, and will be a solid tackler against the run, which is not a strength of Wilhite or Butler.

ST is where the dirty work has to be done, and you have to keep an eye out for the players who have the grit and willingness to do that.

At the very least we know there are no questions about his open-field tackling ability. :)

I love the guy on ST, his coverage and hitting are eye opening. Can he play CB ? Who knows but ST is important too.

He had a nice play late on against he Jags, absolutely smashed into the returner when it looked like he was about to bounce it outside.

We've got a good set of special teamers there, Woods, Arrington, Aiken, Alexander and even Slater who's been very good as a gunner.

Our defensive ST has been good, it's our offensive ST that has been awful. I think we rank next to last in return yards.

WW is fine with punts, but we need KO returner. Edelman is the most recent candidate, but with good quickness and less speed and strength, he looks better suited to PR. Heading into the playoffs, this is not a position of strength.

Um, no, they rank 16th, in return average. Actual return yards don't matter that much; the less touchdowns an opposing offense scores, the fewer total returns and fewer return yards you'll have.

The most impressive thing about him is that he has compiled his stats in half the time. Thank you Cleveland for forcing our hand.

Not trying to be funny, but you say "even Slater"

He's the first guy there often taking two blockers as well. Arrington and Slater are a great duo and the difference is that Arrington has been making his plays on crucial returns.

We've got a star coverage unit as well as a guy who can boom kickoffs out of the endzone

I am with you. Even Slater????

Even though Slater had a significant injury to deal with early in the season and who knows how long it took before he was right he has been a solid contributor on STs. last year his tackles and play was probably better but by no means has he been bad this year.

Slater also returns - and he's not great. That's why I said, 'even Slater'.

That's great, but wake me up when we find a kick returner who can do more than run straight and fall down. :(

CJ Spiller, anybody? He'd make a very nice addition for next season. Speed and the ability to break tackles.

This guy is like a clone of Kelly Washington

Maybe not so good at set position like CB or WR but on STs he is a force

Arrington has been a really nice surprise. He pays with an aggressive streak that is fun to watch. Another gift form Magidiot.

anyone else think Arrington will get some reps at CB vs. Houston...I think it would be smart to test him out this week as a DB for once, just to get an idea of where he is at developmentally...
