End of Best Decade In Boston Sports History

Best decade? I'd think that was the 1960's when this city reeled in 8 championships.

I disagree. For a single sport, the 8 straight Celtics Championships was the greatest 10 year run of any sports team in history. However, this is about ALL of Boston Sports.

In the '60, the only good sports Franchise was the Celtics. The Sox were awful every year but '67 (still lost the WS). The Patriots just joined the league and weren't very good. The Bruins were terrible until the very end of the decade (winning the Cup in '69). Between all the sports, we had 19 losing seasons (sub-.500 teams).

This decade has seen ever major sports franchise succeed. The Red Sox made the playoffs 6 times and won 2 championships. The Celtics had a decent start to the decade, had trouble in the middle, but have finished strong (1 championship, a 2nd maybe if KG wasn't injured). The Bruins have been competitive, making the playoffs 5 times. The Patriots became the first dynasty in cap-era NFL. 6 Championships between 3 sports. There were only 7 losing seasons in Boston Sports this decade.

Eight championships in one sport only...it was also one of the worst times in the history of the Red Sox to the point that there are rumors that the team considered moving and it was also the worst time in the history of the Bruins...Patriots and Red Sox made it to their championships but fell short.

Of the sports only the Bruins haven't won any kind of championship this decade although they have been in the playoffs for six of the ten seasons(if you count this one).

Patriots won three times. Red Sox won twice. Celtics won once. Even the Revolution won a title(Concacaf Gold Cup). It's been the best decade for Boston sports...
