Tedy Bruschi in response to Bill Polian saying his organization didn't feel 16-0 was a 'historical achievement'.

Listening to Bill Polian, it sounds like he's too worried about the Patriots.

He's trying to break these records that the Patriots set, but actually those records the Patriots set were meaningless. We're talking about regular season games, we're talking about consecutive victories, that stuff doesn't matter, it's about Super Bowls.

Listen, Indianapolis Colts fans, don't let them fool you. It is historic to go 16-0 because that means you have a chance to go 19-0. You only can go 19-0 if you go 16-0 first. And 19-0 trumps every single team record that there's ever been made. It trumps the '72 Dolphins' 17-0, also.

I know what it's like to play when it feels like there's a gorilla on your back of pressure, when you're 15-0, But it's the most satisfying thing when we did achieve that 16-0 mark. And yes we lost the Super Bowl to a great New York Giants team. But this is the problem...

When you compare the '09 Colts to the '07 Patriots, I'm going to say something that a lot of people are thinking but aren't saying, at least the '07 Patriots had the guts to go for it, that's what they did, that's what the Indianapolis Colts didn't do and that's their problem.

I love it. Absolutely love it.

I think it's more like they didn't have the guts to go 19-0. With a lead at home against the Jest and just the Bills after that, 16-0 was pretty much in the bad IMO.

It's funny, cuz he was 100% on both points

1) They didn't have the guts.

2) He said what everyone is thinking, even the Colts ballwashers that are trying to justify it.

In all fairness, The players had the guts, the organization didn't.

That's what's scary. They could use this like the 07 Pats used Spygate to just blast everyone.

Remember who their QB is and his record in the playoffs. The Chargers or Patriots will be representing the AFC in the Super Bowl this year.

Well, Polian did get his 23 straight regular season win record. Granted it is a BS record since the Colts lost a playoff game in between, but it was quite an effort to get a meaningless record. To me the Pats still hold the win streak record because they won 21 straight games including playoffs.

Boy, I can't wait for that Profile in Courage Bob ("Can I please have more ESPN airtime I'll say anything really") Ryan calls the Colts out too....NOT!

Personally, I think the Colts might have put even more pressure on themselves now. The Colts will be watched over and second guessed if they come out flat in their first division game. The media are waiting for them to lose a game in the playoffs so they can jump all over them and trash them for taking their foot off the throttle.

If the Colts win it all, the criticism will subsided. In fact, they might get some undeserved props by some media who will state that they would have gone 19-0 if they kept their starters in and went for it like the Pats did.

If the Colts don't win the Super Bowl, they will be piled on even more than they are now.

I come from the camp you try for history, but if they win it all I can't argue their strategy. The goal is to win the Super Bowl at all costs and that includes sacrificing a shot at history. If it pays off, we really can't argue with them.

All I know is that I can't wait to play them again.

The Colts are gonna face the same sort of cr@p that the Patriots did in '07, over spygate and then the filmgate just before the superbowl.

Difference is that the New England crew was united amongst the team, coaches, management and owners. Not so the Colts. They are full-speed into the "soap opera" mode, and it's gonna kill them in the playoffs.

Colts without Nuts = Geldings

I F'N LOVE ALL THIS COLTS DRAMA!!! I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF IT!!! For everyone that is all "I feel sorry for the fans"...or "I feel sorry for the players"...SCREW'EM!!! In 2007 the Pats and their fans were crucified by not only ESPN but holier than thou coach's like TONY F'N DUNGY!!!...and now the Colts have once again showed exactly what they are...little (expletive for female dogs). They whined because the Pats played too rough, they get an automatic flag thrown in their favor whenever Manning goes deep OR the Colts face 3rd and long...well, I expect that all to change. They are no longer the Golden Children...they are classless chickens.

THERE...I SAID WHAT EVERYONE IS THINKING!!!

they are classless chickens.

permit me to disagree...I think they are more like THIS...

Indianapolis Phillies from now on.

Gelding makes more sense here.

Fillies are tough. Rachel Alexandra and Zenyatta didn't throw in the towel.
