Polian takes swipe at Pats...

Re: Polian takes swipe at pats..

16-0 means absolutely nothing.
When you are an elite team, its all about the Lombardi Trophy and nothing else matters.
That said, Polian is a disturbed little man.

Re: Polian takes swipe at pats..

love his logic.

"We wanted to have the most consecutive regular season win streak"

"We wanted the most wins of the decade"

"New England didn't win the super and so no one considers them an undefeated team"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, 16-0 in the regular season doesn't count as an undefeated season (which I agree with), but records that don't include post season wins is a historical achievement and does count.

I'm lost???

He's a gutless douche, doesn't even bother me. What it will do is feel all the better when he loses in the first round as always.

BTW I wonder if anyone told this guy that the playoffs DO matter, in fact they're all that matter. So we do have more wins that you Bill, thank you.

Re: Polian takes swipe at pats..

Several comments :

1) The Colts going 16-0 wouldn't have been a historical achievment because it's already been done.

2) The Colts' consecutive regular season record is stupid as they lost a playoff game in the middle of it. The Patriots didn't lost in the middle of their 21 in a row in the regular season.

3) The Colts haven't won the most games this decade - the Patriots have.

Re: Polian takes swipe at pats..

Last I checked, you have to get to 16-0 to finish 19-0. Whoever says it doesn't matter, not only is a coward, but a lying coward.

Re: Polian takes swipe at pats..

So I am a lying coward? Tough crowd!

Re: Polian takes swipe at pats..

Thank you. some of the people saying Indy could be the team of the decade are ebcause of their regular season wins, and maybe the one time regular season wins would matter for them they say screw it. Absolutely mind boggling. They loved the consecutive games record, which as someone else pointed out, their record is pretty flawed when you throw the playoff loss in the middle of it. But regular season brilliance just sums up the Colts, clearly the team of the decade September-December ;)

Re: Polian takes swipe at pats..

I feel bad for the Colts. Why does they're owner butt in to the football aspect so much? (just like Jerry Jones). Bob Kraft just owns the team and lets BB do all the football parts of the business while he enjoys the ride.

But they are so proud of wining the most regular season games this decade and don’t count total games won in the decade where the Patriots have the lead. How could this be, it sounds hypocritical.

WE HAVE A WINNER HERE!

Polian is President, not owner. The owner is Jim Irsay.

whats more surprising..he is willing to risk manning for getting untied with the pats consecutive winning record but 19-0 is nothing special since the fins have done it..amazing.

If nothing else mattered, then they wouldn't keep records for things like, most consecutive regular season wins or Most wins in a decade.

It matters, just not in the greater scheme of things.

That being said, the Colts already had a bye coming up. There is no sense in resting your players in that situation. Especially when you have the chance to go 19-0.. A feat that hasn't been accomplished.

Except the fins haven't done 19-0.. They finished 17-0..

Of course, the Fins haven't done it and the Patriots are tied with the '85 Bears as the only teams to win 18 games in one season.

MAYBE....if they did go 19-0 and beat us in the playoffs along the way, they could make a case for team of the decade - even though 3 is more than 2.

I didn't understand the "19-0 doesn't matter" crowd in 2007 and I don't understand it now. It's about history, dominance, perfection.....yeah, that doesn't matter. The mind reels.
