I keep hearing, seeing and reading about how the Colts have the most wins in this decade.
That is not correct.
The Colts have 115 REG SEASON wins, The Pats have 112.
The Colts have 7 post-season wins, the Pats have 14.
So the Pats have 126 wins this decade to 122 for the Colts.

Are we seriously supposed to judge wins by ignoring the postseason?
And for some reason NO ONE who makes this comment has ever clarified that it is regular season and the answer changes if you include post-season.

Agreed. It's total BS. It would be like saying the colts have 23 straight victories.

I've been saying this for a while. I have no earthly idea why playoff victories are ignored. I guess I can understand it when it comes to individual stats becuse not everyone gets a chance to play in the postseason, but a team stat like victories should include playoffs.

The Pats have the most wins in the 2000's. Bottom line.

I bet if it were the reverse, with the Pats only having the most regular season wins and the Colts the most overall wins by including playoffs, then playoff wins would suddenly count to the media and the Colts would still be touted as the team with the most wins. Is it just me? :confused2:

But I don't care what anyone says. Pats have the most. Especially the ones that really count. Thank you. The End.

Here's more fuel to the fire: the Colts have appeared in 3 more wild card games than the Patriots during the same decade.

After this year, that will be 2 more wild card games, so you can't even use the plausible excuse for not including playoff wins in this measurement (i.e. better teams play potentially fewer playoff games).

Nope, that excuse won't fly because Indy--though it won 4 fewer games this decade--has played in 3 more wild card games than the Patriots have.

No, it's not just you.

The Colts are the media darlings. It's expected that they mention all this without mentioning the fact that they really don't have the most wins this decade.

TOTALLY AGREE...Colt loving media...I guess playoff wins do NOT count...lol..what BS!! GREAT POINT!!

I keep trying to tell Colts fans this and they don't get it. Polian even said that the Colts have the most wins in the decade in his horrific radio show Monday.

I think the Patriots also have the most consecutive wins. They won the SB during their run.

All this discussion is only by media people desperate to generate a controversy over who is the team of the decade. They were hoping that the Steelers would be more of legitimate Super Bowl contender at this point so they could argue that if the Steelers won the Super Bowl this year, that they have a legitimate right to the Team of the Decade crown. Since there is much doubt whether the Steelers even make the playoffs, the media has to hang their hat on the Colts since they will win the Team of Regular Season for this Decade.

The thing is the media have now backed off this story since they used the caveot that Indy would be forgiven one less Super Bowl win and two less Super Bowl appearances if they went 19-0. But that ain't going to happen. Now they have the whole story of the backlash due to Caldwell pulling the starters, I think this whole debate will go away unless the Colts win the Super Bowl.

The team of the decade thing is really BS anyway. There is no trophy for it. It isn't an official award. It is a media creation. I don't care. Whether the Pats are or aren't considered the team of this decade, it doesn't take away their accomplishments.

Polian was on the NFL newtork right now and he again said that the Colts have the most wins of the decade

BTW, here are other unrelated achievements that the Colts can't surpass:

Division Titles

Pats - 7 (missed 2000, 2002, and 2008 only)
Colts - 6 (missed 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2008)

Conference Title Game Appearances

Pats - 5 (could get to 6)
Colts - 2 (could get to 3)

Conference Championships

Pats - 4 (could get to 5)
Colts - 1 (could get to 2)

Super Bowl Appearances

Pats - 4 (could get to 5)
Colts - 1 (could get to 2)

Super Bowl Wins

Pats - 3 (could get to 4)
Colts - 1 (could get to 2)

There are two areas where the Colts outclassed the Patriots so far this decade and that is regular season wins and longest regular season winning streak. Is that really enough to make them jump ahead of the Pats for the BS Team of the Decade title if they win the Super Bowl this year?

He also threw his backup QB under the bus BIG TIME. He said that with Sorgi on IR "We have nobody else at quarterback" behind Manning, and he even forgot Painter's first name.

Well, the guy is getting creamed by his own fanbase. He has always been a rat and it isn't surprising he would deflect and blame others for his unpopular and what might be monumentally stupid decision.

Question: Why doesn't someone like Bob Ryan write or say that on ESPN?

Answer: He's too busy sucking up to ESPN so he can get his pathetic five minutes of inane airtime every few days.

Agreed to all of that. You can't talk about 19-0 without including the 3 games it would take in the playoffs.

I believe the Colts have won more pre-season games too. Bravo! :woohoo::eat3::rocker:

You know what the beauty of all this is? Bob Kraft and BB cares absolutely ZERO about this. They KNOW this means zilch. Can't even be bothered to talk about it.
