Percy Harvin vs Desean Jackson,,,

I personally believe Desean Jackson is the most dangerous WR in the NFL this year.

Last year there were rumors that BB was interested in Percy Harvin,,trading out of the first round after Minnesota took him,,

I am thinking the two players are very similar, Harvin seems to have a bigger build,,but after seeing Jackson for his sophmore season, the rumor that BB was interested in Harvin is making more sense,,,

For our team, Jackson by far. Harvins a great slot guy but we already have that guy in Welker. With Moss on one end, Jackson would be unstoppable one on one deep.

Gilyard of Cincy looks to me to be a poor man's Jackson.

Spiller of Clemson looks to be a better playmaker than Harvin ever was in college.

D. Thomas of Ga. Tech (if he runs fairly well at the combine) looks to be a poor man's clone of Vincent Jackson of San Diego.

OT Hix of Texas (Jr. not declared yet) reminds a lot of Vollmer.

LB Pawalek of Baylor plays like Greenway of the Vikings.

The freshman punter for Georgia reminds me of Ray Guy.

This is the first year I've watched College Football and haven't been able to watch as many games as I would have liked, but I've seen Gilyard a few times and he impressed me. Seems to make a lot of plays. Any idea of where he is projected and where he could fall?

Also, as much as I would like Spiller to take over the returning duties from Welker and add another element to our offense, he will likely go in the first round and I don't see BB taking a RB so high.

Also, do you know what Gilyard runs in the 40?

This past year, Spiller scored a TD once every 15.75 touches.

As a junior, Harvin scored a TD once every 6.5 touches. He averaged nearly 10 yards per rushing attempt.

NFL Draft Scout currently projects Gilyard as a late first/early second and estimates him to have 4.5 speed. At the moment I doubt Gilyard goes in the first, but I'd say the second is fairly safe. From watching him on the field, I'd say 4.5 is about right.

Andy Reid's offensive system is VERY complicated, which is why Jackson's quick development has been very surprising. Jackson is very talented, but he's also a very intelligent player considering how quickly he picked up Reid's system.(with the exception of his boneheaded spiking the ball before the goalline plays, that is)

I can't think of a football player that transitions from the kicking game to wr as well as Jackson does. Maybe ever. He is containable at times but so explosive at others. Freaky ability and I was dead wrong on him. He's only gonna get better.

The Eagles are stacked at all skill positions, Maclin is going to very good as well. I see them looking at O line or defense. The Eagles are one of the better drafting teams.

You are most likely correct, but Bryan Westbrook has had concussion issues and is 30. Shady McCoy is solid, but not the elusive threat that Westbrook is. Imagine how hard it would be to stop an offense with McNabb, Spiller, Maclin and Jackson.

After all, no one predicted that the Eagles would trade up for Maclin, since they already had that kind of all-purpose threat guy in Jackson.

I feel like Harvin has more potential but he has a lot of health problems (keeps getting the flu, migrains, etc.) which keeps him out of the practice/games.

Keep in mind, the Eagles don't run the ball very often. They could easily sign a free agent or spend a third round pick on a complimentary running back.

I see the Eagles needs as offensive line, then linebacker, then running back, and then safety.

Harvin played with Superman and 9 all stars. Tebow was the entire focus of opposing defenses. Harvin an occasional after thought.

Spiller plays with 1 all star (Ford) and nine question marks. Every play of every game, opposing defenses are keyed on Spiller and he still scored in every game.

I can remember the first time I saw Westbrook, some presean game his rookie year, you knew right away this guy was going to be good. Even someone like me could tell.

I think he was a 3rd rd pick, and they got him into the Meggett role pretty quick.

What, you mean draft a raw but physically talented guy, use him at special teams at first and situationally while learning the position, and in a year or 2 develop him into an impact player?
