With the pro bowl being selected today.. Who do you think will make it ?? But let me state, I hope none of them play since its the week before the super bowl this year ;) We all know the game is a joke, but a honor to be selected..

QB Brady- Rivers and Manning will get in, but Brady gets the third slot..
WR Wes Welker- would be a travisty if he is not in, mos loses out to numbers.
DT Vince Wilfork- best defense player this year
K Stephen Ghostkowski- Adam who???

After that , its about it.. Mayo does not deserve it, you want to make a case for merriweather, fair, but Vince is the best player on the team..

It will be a travesty if Neal doesn't go. The best OG I've seen all year.

I think your 4 selections are pretty spot on. Probably Mankins to as he has a reputation of being a great player around the league. I doubt Neal will get in as he missed several games with injury.

Re: Pats Pro Bowlers...

Neal even though was injured but best the OG in nfl.

Re: Pats Pro Bowlers...

deserving or not, I think Meriweather ends up going.

He was 3rd in the fan vote. (Behind Polamalu and I think Dawkins) Polamalu will probably get the starting nod but will most likely skip due to injury, and that would make me think that at worst Meriweather is the eventual alternate.

Wilfork and Welker are also both really deserving. Moss as well, but if I had to pick just one wide-receiver from our team to make it, it's gotta be welker.

Can Polamalu be selected even if he was only active for 5/6 gamesfrom recollection?

Will Welkers lack of td's count against him? Not saying I wouldn't have him. But sometimes voters are swayed more by the TD numbers over receptions and YAC.

Good point. If I were a betting man, I don't think he'd play. Wouldn't be suprised if that knee needed a little cleaning after the season. Merriweather very well may make the team as a coaches addition.

he should make it. Don't see how you can leave the league leader in receptions off the roster.

that was kind of my point - whatever happens, polamalu won't be playing.

Welker has to be in - even while missing 2 games he's got an outside shot to break the record for receptions in a season

This isn't baseball. :)

They tabulate the results at every position, and the top players at each position are automatically chosen. If they withdraw or are unavailable, the next-highest ranked player is invited, and so on. [And, FWIW, you're considered a Pro Bowler if you either received an invite or played in the game, but not if you're an invited alternate who declines, as Brady did a few years ago.]

Yeah, all he'll need to do is break Brandon Marshall's single-game receptions record to do it. ;)

Then again, that's all Marshall needs to do to catch Welker . . . IF Welker doesn't catch a single pass on Sunday. :singing:

Doesn't really matter who goes since they won't be playing in the game. They'll have a more important game to play the week after! :)

Welker will absolutely make the pro bowl. He is the league leader in receptions, yards per game and YAC and he's also second in total yards..... even though he's missed 2.5 games. Welker has re-defined the slot-receiver position, and EVERYBODY knows it. There's no way Welker doesn't get the nod.

And opposing players' comments make it clear he's widely respected around the league.

I agree totally.

Does anyone know or have any idea how the voting goes. Or is it another losely guarded NFL secret?

In general, most players that get voted to the pro bowl are sorely based off of reputation. However, this isn't always the case, but it happens a lot. Remember Roy Williams of the Cowboys who constantly was voted to the pro bowl?

With that said, my four Patriots are Brady, Moss, Wilfork and Ron Brace. Just kidding, Gostkowski makes it. Unfortunately, I don't see Welker making despite his 122 catch season. There just too much competition in the AFC and would've have been a lock if he had more TD's.

Derrick Burgess and Adalius Thomas for sure

Re: Pats Pro Bowlers...

I don't think it will be Gostkowski, I'd be stunned if it wasn't Kaeding.

Brady, Welker, Moss, Meriweather is my guess.

Also, it doesn't matter anyways, Super Bowl players don't play in the Pro Bowl ;)

Tom Brady, Wes Welker, Vince Wilfork, Stephen Gostkowski are my guesses

Randy Moss odd man out, his 13 TD lead the league but I'm guessing Reggie Wayne, Andre Johnson, Brandon Marshall, and our own Welker get in before him.

I think it will be Brady, Mankins, Welker and Wilfork.

No matter what, here's hoping they won't be playing in the pro-bowl.
