Bay's Agent Says Bay is Ready to Move On

Bay's agent has said that the Red Sox are not giving Bay the proper value he deserves and that other teams have made better offers, so Bay is ready to move on from the Sox. I really don't want to lose Bay, so I hope he doesn't sign with the Mets or Mariners.

Why do you think the Sox shouldnt out bid NY for him? It's not like they havent overpaid for far lesser players during Theo's tenure.

HUGEEE mistake letting Bay walk. It's borderline inexcusable from a fan perspective. I cant think of a single reason for any Sox fan not to be Pissed off about this. It's a slap in our face that they even talk about "bridge years". This is the Boston freaking Red Sox... not the Colorodo Rockies.

They should sign Bay AND add another stud bat via trade... whether it be Gonzales or Miguel Cabrea.

I do not think the Yankees or Sox want him enough to out bid each other. He would be great to have but it may limit one of them from getting a guy like Carl Crawford next offseason. The Free agent market is much stronger next season.

It's also business that if you don't sign with us now, we are not signing you later after you have negotiated with a team that you have no desire to play for. Take note, future free agents.

F him Icy. A player finds a home with a very decent payday (tell me the guy didn't find Nirvana after playing in Pittsburgh). Then has the audacity, to say he can make more money playing with the Mets..........the F'n Mets! Go play for the Mets and enjoy the extra $$.
I also have a real problem with paying more money due to a lack of a salary cap. Some fans here will be the first to complain about the Yankees buying a championship and in the next breath want to ratchet up paying for players who are playing the system.
