Winning at Houston may end up putting DEN, BALT and PITT into a 3-way tie and put PITT into the playoffs instead of Denver, who would be in a playoffs if we lose.

Throw the game, Colts-Titans style... give Steeler fans even more reason to loathe us.

I do love how Steeler country is at our mercy for a whole week

In all seriousness though, I do think this week should be used as our bye week. I want the starters at full strength going into the playoffs and it looks like that is a major possiblity right now.

If losing to Houston keeps the Steelers out, I want to see Rohan Davey under center and Duane Starks on Andre Johnson next week.

LOL! Best post today!

Let's rest some guys--- I agree, use it as a bye week. I want no part of that Pittsburgh passing attack.

It DOES matter who we play.

Oh my goodness, Steelers fans have to become Belichick fans for an entire week. My God. This is going to be great.

Dave Dameshek, you are at the mercy of the Patriots now.

I thought this as well but I think I mis-applied the tie-breakers. In a 3-way tie, don't you eliminate all intra-division matchups first? Meaning match up the Ravens and Steelers first (Ravens better division record) and then add in Denver. Haven't had time to go through it so I'll just wait for some official scenarios.

It would be nice to get a solid road win and keep our momentum as we head into the playoffs.

I think we should play the starters for at least until the 3rd qtr. If Brady is taking a pounding, then pull him early.

Never, never purposely lose a game. We want to have momentum going into the playoffs. I don't like when teams "rest" their players to save them for the playoffs. People pay to see the stars in the NFL play, not sit on the bench. Play Brady into the third quarter if we have the lead, but win the game. After the inconsistent play of this year, I don't beleive BB would purposely tank this weeks game, when a good win would increase the confidence of this team. We have a lot of young guys on this team and I think to purposely lose would send a bad message and damage their psyche.

I don't even want Brady, Welker and Moss to make the trip to Houston.

Agreed. Though, with the O-Line healthy, I don't think Brady will take that much of a pounding at all.

There's a big difference in playing not to win or resting injured players at the end of a grueling season. If Brady, Moss, Welker, Warren and Mayo don't play. I feel that's different than what Indy did. Just pulling healthy starters because you;re worried about injury.

I agree. I think that Brady, Moss, Welker, Warren, Neal, and Wilfork should be inactive for the Houston game.

The players who play should then try their best to win.

Play to win but I agree with you

It could happen but the Jets would need to lose at Cincy.

If the Jets beat Cincy, Pitt is out.

If Houston beats the Patriots, Pitt is out.

Pitt also needs to beat Miami.

What are the chances that all three games go Pitt's way? Since Cincy and the Patriots won't play their best, each of those games is less than 50/50.

Pitt is on life support.

I think it could be advantageous to try and get PIT in the playoffs so they can take out INDY. I hate playing the refs in Indy, let PIT deal with that and possibly take em out. However, I don't want PIT as the 6 seed and us the 3 seed. I want us to be 4 if that's possible and them 6.

The teams in the AFC Wild Card race: the Ravens and Jets have their destiny in their hands, they're followed by Denver, Houston and, finally, Pittsburgh.

Bengals could throw game to Jets and play them in the 1st round of the playoffs.
