So just 1 more win out of the next 2 is needed for the Pats to mathematically clinch the division title.

Remaining games are the Jags and the Texans. Both games are winnable. After that, it all depends on execution and perhaps a little bit of luck. If the defense looks good the next 2 games, and the offense stops going into the tank in the 2nd half of games, I like our chances.

Hoping for a win tomorrow so I can order a AFCE Champs shirt as a late Christmas gift :D

This is what I've been waiting for the whole season...it hasn't happened yet, we'll need a January miracle if we are to have a chance at progressing in the post season.

Or a Dolphins loss.

Yeah, um, I'd say we'd have an outside shot.

NY Giants in 2007. 2008 AZ Cards in 2008. No one thought that they had a chance in the playoffs.

Making the playoffs is the main thing. Anything can happen after that.

Is it too much to hope the defense will wake up? Please don't tell me numbers or where we rank - We all watch the games.

I trust/hope Bill will work it out.

Well, I don't think people thought the Pats didn't have a chance at making the playoffs. At every point this season, most people believed they would make the playoffs.

Yes I believe the AFC East is ours to lose, however, the offense MUST be a lot more creative in the play calling going forward for any chance at the big prize. Looking back at some of our championships (yes I know the personell has changed) We were very good at play actions, screens, 2 backs in the backfield. ETC, I won't drone on, but you get my meaning. We must create the offense that suits our current roster.
P.S Where the hell are our tight ends!
GO PATS!

It'll be our 7th division title this decade ('01, '03, '04, '05, '06, '07, '09), which is the most of any team. Just another thing to add to our list of accomplishments when discussing "Team of the Decade".

1 would be nice but 2 will be nicer.I'm very ancy<{don't correct the spelling,I like it exactly the way it is} excited for this years playoffs. The uncertainty of 01 was a excilerating exprience as a fan. I'm hoping for a road similiar to the 07 Giants<{damn them to hell}.

Pittsbrugh,San Diego and then the Colts. Maybe I shouldn't be looking ahead but I don't play for Belichick so I'm allowed to do so.

Despite all of the Chicken Littles out there who would have us believe otherwise, we are one win away from the division title and two away from a #3 seed. As PATSNUTme said, once you get to the playoffs, anything can happen.

Let's enjoy the ride. GO PATS!

The point is that many people seem to think that just making the playoffs doesn't mean anything because this is not a good Patriots team.

I happen to think that it is a big deal and that once the playoffs start, it's a whole new season.

As much as we collectively rag on this defense, let's not forget they have given up only 10 points in each of the last two games. Maybe not a lot of highlight reel plays, but perhaps they are coming together more than we're giving them credit for.

Seriously. I really do hope that they play today like they only have an outside shot. I believe that how we go into the playoffs will determine how we do there. I'd like to see a big win over Jax with two solid halves on both sides of the ball and then carry that into the first half against Houston.

I still haven't ruled out a W in Miami for these guys, but it will all depend on how they're playing and the old cliche about "momentum" in January....worked for the Giants two years ago and almost worked for the Cardinals last year...
