The Senior Bowl week starts in a month, and invites are being issued. The Senior Bowl web site has issued a list of players who have accepted invites:

Official Website of the Senior Bowl

As of today that list includes 5 players from Alabama (OG Mike Johnson, DT Terrence Cody, TE Colin Peek, CB/ST Javier Arenas, and PK Leigh Tiffin), 2 players from Auburn (RB Ben Tate and DE/OLB Antonio Coleman), and RB Anthony Dixon from Mississippi St.

Scott Wright from NFL draft countdown reports that the following players have been offered invitations to date: QB Sean Canfield, Oregon St.; RB Charles Scott, LSU; WR Brandon LaFell, LSU; WR Jeremy Williams, Tulane; TE Jimmy Graham, Miami; OT Ciron Black, LSU; OT Ed Wang, Virginia Tech; OC J.D. Walton, Baylor; DT D'Anthony Smith, Louisian Tech; DE/DT Jared Odrick, Penn St.; DE/DT Arthur Jones, Syracuse; ILB Donald Butler, Washington; OLB Cameron Sheffield, Troy; DE/OLB Brandon Lang, Troy; DE/OLB Brandon Graham, Michigan; DE/OLB Koa Misi, Utah; S/OLB Harry Coleman, LSU; and S Nate Allen, USF.

I think Cody will look dominant in a situation like that

And Tebow has to play imo, his whole stick is being Mr competitive and the ultimate winner, so if he doesn't play, that's a mark against his competitiveness and confidence.

Reminds me of a story I read long time ago about Mark Gastineux(sp). I forget the players in the story, but doesn't matter too much.

Gastineux was from a small school and the personal guru at team X thought he had found a hidden gem, because he thought no one else knew of him.

Personal guru gets a phone call from a Senior Bowl admistrator, "We're thinking of adding Gastineux to the roster,, Whadda you think about that".

Personal guru, "Oh crap now everyone knows".

I wonder who the Pats are happy about not getting the invite, another Volmer, maybe??

Exactly. On the one hand, I want to see how guys like Austen Lane and Jared Veldheer do against top competition. On the other hand, I don't want the cat to get too far out of the bag, though there are really no true secrets anymore. But it's harder to evaluate prospects who don't get invites. Vollmer wasn't invited to the combine last year, for example, and we ended up getting arguably the best OT in the entire draft at #58.

Tennessee RB Montario Hardesty and DT Dan Williams have been added to the Senior Bowl roster. Williams and Terrence Cody are the 2 best 3-4 NTs in the draft, so that should be quite a show.

I am gong to pay more attention to the East West Shrine game this year. Withall the talented underclassmen expected to come out this year, this is where some senior hidden talent will come from.

LB Eric Norwood from Mississippi and LSU WR Brandon LaFell, RB Charles Scott, OT Ciron Black and Harry Coleman have been added to the Senior Bowl roster.

Michigan DE Brandon Graham has been added to the Senior Bowl roster.

While I am somewhat skeptical of Scott Wright as a "draft guru/insider, et al", he does have a twitter account that can be informative on players declaring for the draft or accepting invitations to the Bowl Games.

Scott Wright (DraftCountdown) on Twitter

Notre Dame safety Kyle McCarthy and OL Eric Olsen and Sam Young have been added to the roster.

USF CB Jerome Murphy, S Nate Allen, and DE George Selvie have been added to the Senior Bowl roster.

Ole Miss OG John Perry and WRs Shay Hodge and Dexter McCluster have been added to the Senior Bowl roster. It's interesting that McCluster was added as a WR rather than as a RB.

USC Safety Taylor Mays, TE Anthony McCoy, and OT Charles Brown have been added to the Senior Bowl roster.

Florida State CB Patrick Robinson and LB Dekoda Watson, Boise St. CB Kyle Wilson, and TCU DE/OLB Jerry Hughes and LB Daryl Washington have been added to the Senior Bowl roster.

Patrick Robinson running down Noel Divine - under a full head of steam - from behind, was very impressive. I can't wait to see what he runs at the Combine, but he made a bid to be the next super-high draft pick of the Oakland Raiders.

Speaking of Tebow,,in the Florida-Cinci game the othe nite, Brian Billick gave a nice little summary of his NFL future,,

I never liked watching Billick on the sidelines and all his annoyed looks, but I do enjoy him as the "game analyst"

Some time late in the game he said, and am totally papraphsing,,

"I don't know what one would think about drafting Tebow in the first round, he is a kid with great talent, but you would have work a long time on his mechanics and then you add to that the Florida offense does not mesh well with the standard NFL offense, so you would have to basically retrain your first round draft pick. Not sure how many teams would be willing to do that."

That's the way I heard it, if someone can correct me go right a head.

May explain our WR Jackson, too.

The most hilarious thing about it is that the Patriots weren't exactly subtle about it. Hmmm, did no one else notice that Scarnecchia coached Vollmer in the Shrine Game, and then went back to Houston to work out Vollmer at his Pro Day? :singing:

Yes, as a matter of fact some of us noted it last Spring.
