From the New York Daily News -my guess is that Rex was suffering from low blood sugar because he had not eaten in the last 3 1/2 minutes ...

"Shortly after his team re-created a performance from the "Same Old Jets" handbook, straight from the ever-growing chapter entitled, "Unfathomable Losses," Ryan waved the surrender flag. Called it a season with two games to go.

"We're obviously out of the playoffs, and that's unfortunate," he said after a devastating yet oh-so-predictable 10-7 loss to the Falcons Sunday at the frigid Meadowlands.

Uh, just one thing, coach: You're still not mathematically eliminated."

Re: Fat Rex Surrenders

The New York Daily News' headline read, "The Fat Man Sings" with a picture of Rex right next to it screaming.

Re: Fat Rex Surrenders

At least Rex admitted defeat swaggerliciously.

Re: Fat Rex Surrenders

Wow, I dunno how this won't get a ton of press. His team very well could make the playoffs and he's PUBLICLY given up?? I've honestly never seen that from a coach before.

That's only because his team went out there and punched victory in the mouth.

Totally awesome. This idiot just let the world know he's either a. a quitter or b. too stupid to pay attention to details.

How can the coach not know the playoff situation? LOL.

Re: Fat Rex Surrenders

And, living in NYC, this is only gonna get better. One of the tabloid mediots pointed out that the Sanchize played yesterday like he hadn't learned anything all season, which was, of course the reason for sacrificing the season to give a rookie qb the opportunity to learn. Watching Sanchez run up and down like a maniac on the sidelines after a call he didn't like and then watching him put up his third pick of the day made me wonder if maybe he is indeed as dumb as a brick.

This is going to get great.

Over the next year, it will start to dawn on the Jets' fans and then, more slowly, on the organization that they made a five year error in betting their future on a guy with 13 NCAA starts and a history of injuries. The tabloids will go into full roar. Rex will melt down every other week. I'm telling you, this is going to get good!

Re: Fat Rex Surrenders

I would take him as my defensive coordinator.:rolleyes:The jets defense is really good.

Hey, leave the Grimace alone. He's got enough to worry about with those damned hamburglers.

I saw that headline on NFL network. Gotta love the New York media!

Re: Fat Rex Surrenders

Jets is still important. They need to kick Indy ars this weekend. Fat Rex is on a mission to destroy INdy's perfect season. Will he do it instead of having 2 double cheese burgers?

The guy who made up the headline is probably just as fat though

And the Patriots got a QB with zero starts from the same program, and turned him into a legitimate starting QB. . . . :D

Re: Fat Rex Surrenders

I think we all become Jets fans this week though ....

So go fat boy and bring it on!!

Hyprocrisy notwithstanding, it is always entertaining to see the New York media transition from ridiculous emotional highs like "Rex Almighty" and "Sanchise" to bottom churning lows like this in the course of a single season. It's almost a mirror image of last year's stories.

It's so predictably satisfying, isn't it? Like having a crystal ball.

Re: Fat Rex Surrenders

The Jets already won their Super Bowl. Their season ended a while ago.

SOJ! Same Old Jets! The team that always cheers us up by their annual football and media trainwreck performance. 5 stars!
