Brace vs. Bills

Before the game, folks asked whether a good performance by Brace would affect the value of Wilfork to the patriots. I think the answer has to be "yes".

I fully expect us to franchise and keep Wilfork for the 2010 season. However, Brace has to be an option for 2011 (perhaps along with another draftee). Wilfork will get a lot of money in his long-term contract. I hope it is from the patriots. If not, Brace is currently Plan B in the Wilfork negotiations, the role he for which he was drafted.

hilarious....brace held up against triple teams, but was manhandled 1-on-1 by hangartner repeatedly.......not sure how that works

You use different techiques fighting just one guy, he's used to fighting mobs, you know, for charity and stuff....

He got driven back a few times on the first possession but he settled in well as the game went on.

My biggest complant about his performance is that he just got up way too high way to fast.
The first thing the yteach D-linemen in football is stay lower then your opponent and he seemed to just stand up a few too many times

He got tripled on that 1 play which was replayed and everyone remembered.

the rest of the game he was just being handled easyly by a center and the gaurd on into the backfield blocking the ILB.

Once wright was moved to NT we played better.

it was nice to see him playing: i was very curious about him

he was totally overmatched on the first drive, partly due to making his first start. After that, he seemed to adjust and he played respectably for a rooke' He does need to add some weight nand sit next to Wilfork every chance he gets.

What a disppointment, he was not an all star in his first game. How about you just give him some more playing time before you dump him. BB said he didn't get the time because the guys ahead of him were playing better, that would be Warren, Wilfork, Green, Wright and Pryor. Sounds ok to me. Don't give me the complaint about Pryor being a lower round choice. I'm certain if they knew he was going to be that good that would have drafted him second.

Just another imperfection for BB. Pass the kool aid.

When Wilfork was hurt in the middle of the season, Sands was brought in for a couple of weeks to play ahead of Brace.

In football low man wins.

Brace will lose the skates when he figures this out.

While he may give out individual praises, he never singles out a player over another player, or players.

Sands was a stopgap.

Meriweather seemed to be flying around like a man on a mission... I'm liking his development as a player.

Except for that f'n horrendous missed tackle. HORRENDOUS missed tackle. He's a third year player. He needs to eliminate that kind of stupidity.

Edit to note one good thing came from that missed tackle -- the guy who made the tackle -- 30 yards downfield from the LOS -- was your very own Mike Wright. What great hustle for a DLineman!! No need to wonder why BB was raving about him after the game.

One of the most impressive things I've seen from the team this year...

Wright has always been a hustler and fast on his feet for his size (see his play on Special Teams), but Sunday he really took on a leadership by example role out there. Warren stomping on the Adalius insurrection, Wright playing like a man possessed, Jarvis Green two game balls in two weeks, Wilfork playing statement games with no new contract - the D-line is leading...dear Lord, please help the rest of the 53 + 8 to see and hear that example, and be inspired. Amen.

I thought Brace looked thin as well... and he's weighs 330? If he fills out even more, could we possibly be looking at the second coming of Ted Washington? I know there have been HUGE guys in the NFL that haven't done well because of technique/conditioning problems, but you have to admit he could have a very high ceiling.
