... a lot of people will feel pretty dumb.

......it changes NOTHING!!
Tom Brady has a surgically repaired knee, 2 cracked ribs, a bad finger, a bad shoulder and has never jaked it on a single play.
Why are so many of you Patriot fans trying so hard to defend a lazy and soft player who's had a career long reputation of being a lazy and soft player?? Randy Moss has hall of fame talent yet is on his 3rd team in his NFL career and has never won jack.
He's showing you why that is.

The only 2 people who should feel dumb if this is the case are Moss and Belichick.

Belichick, for knowing that Moss is hurt and is playing some type of stupid injury report game, while Moss is dragged through the mud.

Moss, for allowing that to happen.

Tom Brady is a QB, Randy Moss is a receiver. Somehow, I don't think Vince Wilfork would be playing if he had cracked ribs, because of the demands of his position.

If we're willing to let Wes Welker off the hook for missing two games with a knee injury, I see no problem with letting Moss off the hook for sub-standard play IF it's because of a bad back. He's never been a physical receiver and he's been used differently since he came to Foxborough. Right now, at least he serves a purpose of drawing attention because he can always break loose and burn you on any given play, but if he is hurt to a degree where it makes him shy away of contact, at best it's bad form, but I'm not going to accuse him of not being Brady.

I think I'll let Brady, Faulk and Belichick decide whether or not Randy was a problem. It affects them a hell of a lot more than it affects me.

My back would hurt too if I had to carry the whole offense all season long

I am really getting tired of "oh,he must be injured" crap

EVERY PLAYER in the NFL is banged up by this point in the season,If this is the case then Moss needs to grab his nutsack and get out there and earn his millions - this is not a game for whining pansies who can't play because they are not 100% - --no one is 100% in week 14.

If that was true, Moss would be nursing a herniated disc and Welker would be crippled by now.

I wouldn't be suprised if Moss was injured. As someone else said, I'll let Belichick deal with it. I think Moss should be made aware that the team has his back and get him firmly on the bandwagon. But I also think BB should let him know that he didn't have a good game and not exclude him from anyone else.

Well, I made this thread because I thought it was kinda crazy how people are so quick to jump on this guy.
He's been pretty good for us to this point, and seemed to be saying and doing all the right things.
I don't know if he's hurt or not, but I know first hand that back injuries are tough.
And I know that he has taken some big hits recently.
Talk of running him out of town etc, is just dumb.

Thanks for the varied responses.

Question....what are these big hits that you speak of?

Seems to me, that he's been hit more than before over the middle.
Can I be specific? Not really. I just remember him getting drilled pretty good several times.
My point again, is that people immediately question his desire. If hurt, he would'nt be the first guy to play when he is not really healthy enough.
He's been involved in more contact this year than in years past, seems to me.

 No make that a double!!

Wow!!!!!!! No wonder fans in this region have a reputation for being very knowledgable when it comes to "baseball". :D

Yes I will say that hes taken more hits this year than any other year because he has had to do more. When Welker was out he had to go over the middle more which he isnt used to doing.

Whether hes hurt, lacking effort something just hasnt been there with Moss the last few weeks. I guess we wont know until the season is over, or possibly never

Regardless of what's wrong with him, be it physically or mentally, it would do him a lot of good to come out pissed off against the Bills, if he can. This is yet another time when a full injury report made available to the media and fans would help ease my mind.

I just hope Moss comes out angry this weekend along with the rest of the team. Two franchises are firmly in the midst of possibly going undefeated and all anyone can talk about is the Patriots and their problems.

Agreed. I also believe that it takes 2 to tango.
My opinion is that Brady is a bit off as well.
More than once yesterday, he looked a bit skiddish to me.
A bit jumpy, a bit uncomfortable etc.
Sub-par pass protedtion recntly, can lead to uncomfortable Brady, which can lead to bad throws, miscommunication/ poor rythm.
I'm not saying that this is what's wrong, just saying that on a football team, there are 11 moving parts. And that Moss's drop in production could be from one or many different things.

Of course Brady is a little off, hes taken more hits and been knocked down more any year in his whole career. Hes playing with a hurt leg, finger and ribs. Hes still playing his heart out there, something #81 cannot say

Mike Holley had an intersesting story on the radio today. It seems as though Brady was screaming at Moss during a practice last month saying Moss wasn't trying hard enough to catch passes that day. Moss called Brady the next day and told him he hurt his feelings. Since that incident Moss has caught 11 passes for 183 yards in 4 games.

But a back injury can be delibilating for some people if thats what Moss has.

Havent you ever hurt your back? I have and it puts me out of commision for a few days at best. Sure, Moss would be getting the best treatment, but depending on the severity time off might be the only way to fully heal, but the Pats need him.

In retrospect I dont think Moss is dogging it now.

He is certainly lacking effort. If he was really that severely hurt he wouldnt be out there for 71 out of 75 plays, or whatever it was. Brady is playing with a number of injuries and he isnt letting it effect is play that much. I am sure Welker and other guys on the team are hurting but they arent showing it.

Moss definitely is lacking effort and is frustrated
