Suggestions to disallow or penalize scores picking the wrong team have been made from time to time, but rules simplicity is a virtue in this contest.

This happens pretty seldom anyway. And many players don't feel right picking against the Pats even if they believe the game will be a squeaker like the NE-MIA one was. So I think this would disproportionately penalize many people, or encourage them to do something they really don't want to do (which is no fun, this is a fun contest). Maybe a poll before next season would tell me if I am reading the sentiment wrong on this. But no changes this season obviously.

Besides, robertweathers (not Alvinnf) would have been the winner, he had the same score but the correct winner.
