(Matt Damon) is clearly a big Tom Brady fan. “I had seen him in the off-season with a group of people out at dinner. He wouldn’t touch the red wine and it was like three months before training camp,’’ said Damon. “I was like, are you serious? And he was so focused. I was like, this guy is unbelievable. He’s got such incredible discipline and I really admire that in anybody.’’

for the kids

Damon is a nice actor. I hate his politics, but he's a good craftsman in front of the camera.

IT'S FOR THE KIDS VINCE. I HAVE AWARDS AND I HAVE TO CALL YOU BACK!

"I can't even believe that you HAVE money to GIVE to a foundation but the fact is that you DO and you gave me your word that you would! So give me the f*ckin check Vince!"

If it was just another hollywood 'i want to sound cool' moron actor, I would not give this thread one second of a thought. But Matt Damon rose from really nobody to big time A-list actor through hard work. I know this is really besides the point but he pretty tried most of genre of movies out there, leading role to support role to gay role to macho butt kicking role. Comment from him is really irrelevant to anything but I'm sure he recognizes someone who is really committed to his craft and its nice to hear one nice thing about Patriot player in middle of this sh!t storm that's going on....

I really don't understand this idea that we shouldn't listen to actors. Yes, most of them are shallower than a puddle (Tom Cruise, etc.) but some of them are more listenable than other public personalities, such as politicans, for instance. Yes, I don't know of any actor that can hold forth with, say, a public intellectual, but America has few of those, and most people don't know who they are anyway.

So, if someone is going to start a discourse worth having on a public level in the USA, it's going to be Matt Damon or the like. Few others can do it, unfortunately. I know some public intellectuals who would do it with good cheer and humor but they are buried on the Charlie Rose Show.

Damon is full of himself like most Hollywood celebs parroting the latest groupthink as if it were fundamental truth. Not. That said, he works hard at his craft and has earned his roles and acquited himself well. Glad for the observation on Brady.

Why is this thread 1 star? He said nice things about Brady and I was happy to read them, especially in light of some current opinions of Brady's work ethic on this board.

1) We are remembering Damon's funny lines from Entourage from that one episode where he wants Vince to give money. And is over-the-f'ing-top about it. It was A+.

2) Opinions are like @$$holes - Everyone has one and most of them stink.

3) This thread is 1 star because people do not enjoy humor

:)
