as tough as the going has been this season...we still control our own destiny

at this point we just have to stop playing bad football, and start playing good football....we have 4 games left

lets make it so we go into the playoffs hot

Even though the Browns and Steelers are division rivals, losing to Cleveland would have been worse for the Pats this year than it was for Pittsburgh tonight due to the Mangini factor.

On the other hand, I can't imagine coming off a Super Bowl win and losing to the Browns, Chiefs, and Raiders - teams that have combined for just six wins when they don't play Pittsburgh - and that's before the wins when those three teams play each other.

if we lost the Browns....

I'd soak my Brady jersey in gasoline, put it on, and light a match...

"in here" meaning this board? I think the idiots would take over :D

All i know is, we lose this weekend, and im staying away from this board for awhile. :(

If we lose this weekend, don't expect to see me around here until after the season's over. Between the insufferable trolls calling for Belichick's head and the homers mindlessly insisting that everything's fine, it would just be an all-out barrage of idiocy.

You're probably right. Coming back in the offseason would be much easier :D

Just make sure you come back following the last game of the season. I expect that there will be a few days of memorable exchanges, no matter where the Patriots finish.

Dogs and cats living together....mass hysteria!

It's almost as if Pittsburgh is suffering the curse of the superbowl loser. Very weird.

Losing to Miami and the Jets was bad enough :bricks:

I view Indy and Pitt the same. Both build through the draft almost exclusively. They believe in their system, and are patient allowing draft picks to develope. Such a philosophy can lead to minor dips in success, due to inexperience, injury, or a draft miss. The Pats use free agency to fill holes or add depth. Unfortunately, the latest crop of free agents have, for the most part, not delivered. Two different team building styles.

If they lost to the Browns, it would obviously be disappointing and most of the board would go absolutely haywire. The Pats barely ever lose to teams that finish with losing records since the great run started in '01. Here's the list of teams that finished with a losing record in the season they beat the Pats:

2001 - Bengals (this was a game started by Bledsoe however)
2003 - Bills, Redskins
2004 - Dolphins
2006 - Dolphins

Only 5 times in 9 years, and 3 of those were divisional games. Pretty darn good if you ask me. When the Pats lose, it's to good/decent teams a very high percentage of the time.
