I do , but how do you feel if its a one and done team, would you rather them not make the playoffs... ?? I know some want draft talk already, but as you seen in the past the draft is not the awnser... I want to see what kind of team we have the last 4 weeks, are we going to fold our tents, or we are still apart of the playoff chase.. Destiny is our hands, I hope they grab it the next 4 weeks and beyond...

One and done would still signify a chance to go further. Missing the playoffs by a game would not represent much in terms of next year (1 win, more or less does not substantially alter draft position, unless that win happens to be in the final game of the NFL season). I guess if your expectation is the team has no chance, and in the current NFL and the talent on the majority of teams that is a stretch based on the weekly scores, it wouldn't appear to represent much fun.

As I cannot predict the future, looking back I genuinely looked forward to the playoffs in 2005 and felt the team had a shot. Even knowing how it ended in Denver, and it ended in a poor performance, I wouldn't do it differently.

Sean- I see your point but as a Pats fan I don't see any scenario why you wouldn't want this team in there. Stranger things have happened. Plus it's still fun! Thats the joy of sports.....the unknown. I gave the Pats no chance to beat SD in 06 and look what happened. They made me into a fool and I'm glad they did.

Im just taking a reaction, its been a down 2 weeks, actually, 1 month really.. Like I said , i want to see this team rise up... If they miss the playoffs, its a sign of rebuilding, we are not rebuilding we will be reloading... Playoffs will the succesful now.. And look forward to see what happens..

Quite frankly, I think the signs of rebuilding were last year.

My goodness, what a question! "You play ........." (Herm Edwards)

Anyone who doesn't want the Pats in the play-off's needs to grow a set. Yes, we might lost 40+ points to San Diego but we may also win the Superbowl. One and done would be progress on last season.

Amen to that Paul The Pat, it's a cliche, but it's a new season once the playoffs start. Look at the Cardinals last year, they got hot at the right time. I still wonder "what if" last years team got into the playoffs. I really think they would of made some damage...

Voted yes, once your in who knows what can happen, pretty sure if you look back over the last few seasons with the exception of the 2007 Patriots most of the super bowl participants had flaws and at this point in the year were not even looked at as championship material:

2008- Cardinals 8-8? Steelers-Solid year, but not specatular
2007- Giants Eli who knew? Average QB all year turns into Joe Montana in the playoffs
2006- Colts-Worst run defense in the league turned into steel curtain. Bears-where the hell is Grossman now?
2005-Steelers had to win out just to get in (I think last 4 games of the season) Seahawks-Nuff said

Lets get in and see what happens, upsets happen in the playoffs every year, maybe our boys are the ones who pull the upsets this year...not gonna bet against Brady yet....

Yes. I don't care if we get killed in the second round or not. I want this team to make the playoffs.

Of course I do. Jeez.

And a little secret - there's no dominant team in the AFC, if we're in, we can win.

Is this even a question?? Of course I do. Being out of the dance means you have no chance to win it all, not bringing there means you don't. I have seen stranger things happen in sports and three improbable superbowl trips from teams that no one expected to be there this decade in the 01 Pats, 06 Steelers and the 08 Cardinals. The playoffs are a different season and anything can happen. I absolutely want to see them in the dance, no question about it!!

of course. We're Pats fans aren't we? I am not expecting much out of them but who knows, they could surprise.

...Hell yeah. After going 11-5 last year and missing out, I'd always take a ticket to the 'tournament'. You just can't tell what'll happen (good points on the Cardinals). A number of teams with great records right now are in danger of peaking too soon - and could be in danger of being upset. The Pats have always been built for the long haul. (I think they're good for at least one win, possibly two this year...)

Silly question. They were rebuilding in 01 too.

Please explain the benefits of barely missing the playoffs  One or two draft slots?

I do believe there is benefit in missing the playoffs without a CBA. I think teams that do make the playoffs have restrictions on signing FA's. not sure of the detail, but I think there is something to it.

regardless. YES....make the playoffs......please
