Time for fair weather fans to leave
And with them all spoiled brats
Reading all this garbage I want to heave
It can be seen so clearly in the stats
Time for Borges, Felger and those with Patriot hate
To kick this team with glee
I know this team's not really great
But that's pretty easy to see
Media frenzy make those calls
It's like a gourmet meal
So called fans and some oddballs
That's all part of this whole deal
Fans know better, they want change
But clueless with all the details
Rant and rave in odd exchange
Hammer them with many nails
Four games left, let it all play out
See what this team will do
Maybe one will end in a rout
Who knows what's really true
Maybe they will be one and done
Or come together really strong
Just relax and enjoy the fun
Is that really all that wrong?
So much commotion, so much noise
But so little with any weight
Not with clarity nor with poise
There's nothing to debate
A year of transition is pretty hard
For fans to understand and take
But maybe that winning trump card
Is not all that's at stake
For those who saw them years ago
This team would still rate high
So throw them all out the window
And kiss the team goodbye

Nice poem and all.. But seriously? COMMMEEE ONNN!!

I like it..

Reminds me of the one Rocky wrote Adrian when she was in a coma.

I thought Borges had a good column today on the Patriot's draft. I don't remember Rocky's poem, but had to watch the last Rocky movie.....just because, and I'm thinking the poem was just as painful.

Poetry? That is when you can tell your team is in trouble. It's not the "Haters" coming out it is the "Poets".

"Remember when we was on ice skates,/ And I thought you were supposed to be great,/ But I kept giving you lip, / And you kept trying to slip,/ So I could catch you./ That was our first date,/ And after that, every day was great./ So now I want you to know,/ That wherever you go,/ Atlantic City or in the snow,/ Don't worry about a thing,/ Cause as long as I got this ring,/ I'll always be there to catch you."

And no, that's not from memory.

And as for the OP, very creative and upbeat. Keep it coming.

Just on fairweather fans.

Don't confuse fairweather fans with idiots and guys that panic. There have been plenty of them around even when we were a 1-15 and 2-14 team.

99.999% of the fans on this message board and in the seats at Gillette Stadium were not around when this team was 1-15. And believe me it won't take 1-15 for them to bail out. All the Pats need are a season or two of 6-10 and they'll be long gone.

For the love of God man, I just ate supper.

Stallone the poet. You gotta love it. Keats and Tennyson had nothing on him.

That was freaking epic... i wish i had the youtube, Couldn't find it though. lol

I'll agree that there have been some pretty bad posts here lately, but let's stop this fairweather nonsense. Just because someone criticizes this team or organization doesnt make them a fairweather fan, and that's what ive been reading a lot lately. I have been a fan of this team since the mid 80's. I am in no way, shape, or form a fairweather fan. I have the right to criticize this team and the organization, as do others.

The bandwagon, and fairweather name calling has just got to be trimmed down a bit guys. This is a message board. This is where ppl come to talk. Sorry if it's all not positive HURRAH cheer leader ****, but live with it.

And seriously? Another guy makes a creative, well played out post/poem and so your gonna jump in and steal the mans thunder? Cmon now...

This is in no way a jab at the OP... But in my experiences over the years...it always seems to be the Band Wagoners who are the most sensitive about that sort of thing. It's almost as if they think by calling out others, it will somehow help to validate themselves more.

Trust me... those of us who were around in the 80'-90's know what real criticism is. And trust me... what you're hearing/reading now isn't even close to harsh. :)

That is absolute garbage. You are trying to tell me that 99.999% of the fans are under 40.

It's a bit about perspective...and a LOT of Patriot fans have little of that..and that is because many have not been around BEFORE the Parcells era...and from the on the worst two years have been 8-8 and 5-11.....the last Carroll year and first BB. Now...THAT is hardly the terrible years of this franchise...NOT even close. One has to go back to the early 80s for that...or before..and MANY...a large portion of fans have NOT experienced that...two REALLY bad years...that is the reason fair weather fans and the like have ZERO perspective... If one is used to banquets of gourmet food...if one gets a pretty good meal, it seems horrible...but if one has barely had a meal like many...the perspective changes a great deal..and the many HAVE only been around for the gourmet meals.
Yes..there are many older posters here, but I would say the bulk are younger and even some of those have taken the time to GET perspective others have not.
And to me I remember when all Patriot fans would have loved this team to go 11-5....but here, it seems like an insult to so many..those are the ones that lack ANY perspective at all. And to those who don't like that term...don't act like it..that simple.
Sure, there's plenty wrong with this team..but go follow the Lions or the Raiders for a year and then see how worn out your mouth will be from complaining.. Me thinks you'll be running back here QUICK!!

Pretty pitiful...front runners, band wagoners..and the like..are now the norm...
