PFT is talking about some potential changes coming in Pittsburgh after fourth quarter melt-downs.

Tomlin sounds ready to make changes | ProFootballTalk.com
Unforeseen times call for drastic measures, and Tomlin sounds ready to unleash hell on his starting lineup. Tomlin plans to take an "aggressive look at potential changes" because of an "undesirable pattern of behavior" in the fourth quarter of games.

Now I know we ASSUME Bill is "taking an aggressive look" but I think it would be nice to hear it. If Tomlin thinks he can do something about late-season issues, surely Bill can do like-wise.

I do remember BB cutting Steve Martin in Dec 2002 for a bad attitude. Problem is he wasn't that big of a cap hit. May be some suprise inactives next Sunday.

Pattern of behavior is spot on, smart of Tomlin.

This team has a pattern of behavior in the play calls. The Patriots need to self scout their own team for a week.

The trouble is who does Bill have available to plug in at this stage

in the season that may play better than his current starters? He has

around 19 players who are dinged up.

They do every day in practice.

I have zero doubt Bill is considering all his options but he won't do it with the public bluster of Tomlin.

Belichick works extensively with the defense already. Is he going to fire himself?

He's already tried pinning the LB woes on Thomas. That clearly didn't solve the problem.

I thought with the departure of McDaniels, he was also supposed to work

more closely with the offense.

I'd rather see Bill do something about it, than say something about it. It might reassure the fans, but it means nothing if you're only paying lip service to it.

Having just listened to BB's weekly slot on WEEI, he sounded very very pissed off, and he said the failings on the defense are the entire defense, not just one specific thing like the pass rush.

The only problem is that if you choose to pull a psycho like Tomlin seems to be doing, you have only one load to shoot. If he pulls the psycho route and his team continues having trouble, then he is out of options.

Personally I'd prefer an underhanded "action speaks loudly" type of move. I'd be happy if someone got benched on Sunday.

his WEEI interview looked beat...more so than most losses at least IMO

Tomlin is the most straight up tell it like it is coach in the NFL and if the pats did not have BB as a coach i would want him

we will never get more then we need to get better, or it is what it is from BB

and i realy dont care if he dose not say what he is going to do

my problem is he is not doing anything, i have to say BB and the coaching stuff has lost at lest 2 games for the pats this year

I kindof want someone to say something to cause media buzz. Whether its Mayo complaining about the defense, Belichick, or Moss complaining.

SOMEONE SHOW EMOTION

If Bill is going to be firing in the off season, I'm glad he does not mention it while counting on heads that may roll.

There is a DC. There is no OC. Yes he is more involved with the defense.

Um, change horses in mid stream often?:D

Geez, Louise, we are talking off season changes. I'd hate to see assistant coaches fired in mid season.

<Begin Rant>

Completely agree

This robot act is kind of getting tired. Ok I understand that they will not show emotion for press but atleast show it in the field during the game. It almost feels like the majority of this team is playing without any fire and just shows up to to collect game check. Have they stopped buying in to BB as they started thinking that they will get cut/traded when their current contract is up ?? I hope not !

</End Rant>

I would like to see Burgess PERMANENTLY BENCHED, but I doubt that he would care. He might even enjoy it.
What a waste of a draft pick.

The Robot act is really pissing me off. Brady smirking at the press with the famous one liners. BB showing 0 emotion saying the same thing 100x times over. Welker dodging every question by saying "Idk ask tom", or every other playing saying, "Idk as coach." Guess what, your 7-5. You're not good enough to act wise to the local media that wants answers.

Maybe you bandwagoners would like to trade BB for a Tubby Rex, or Herm Edwards or Jim Mora to add a little spice to the press conferences? Sheesh. Get a grip. Limiting info to the press is a smart move. The local media wants answers? BFD. Do you think they're looking to write some helpful, supportive stories about our favorite team? Yeah, right!

This whole thread stinks - not the original premise necessarily, but the way all these chicken littles crawl out from under their rocks whenever the team hits a bad spot, just to enlighten us with their psychoanalysis of BB's demeanor. Spare me, OK? BB's press room demeanor is EXACTLY THE SAME as it is when the Pats run off a string of wins. That's how you win in this league over the long haul - consistency and focus, not blabbering to the press and false bluster.

Have you ever watched a BB practice session? Think there's any emotion from him there? THAT'S the place for it, not on the podium where Coors can turn it into their next braindead commercial.
