Cleaned it up for the weak at heart. The guy is so talented but plays like a total prima donna, barely blocks, gives up if the play is not on his side of the field, etc.

Against the Saints, it was over after Sharper hit him in the first quarter. He was a non factor after that.

As a veteran leader and someone who 'just wants to win' he needs to show up more.

He has shown up. He leads the league in recieving yards, tied for 3rd in TDs, 10th in receptions, tied for 1st in 20+ yard catches and tied for 5th in first downs. It is pretty hard to question a guy who is putting up numbers like that.

I do see where your frustrations are coming from. He hasnt produced in the games that we have lost, with the exception of the Colts game. As I have stated in other threads in games that we have lost with the exception of the Colts, he had 1,2, 4 and 5 catches. Games like yesterday where he makes a big play in the 1st and then disappears for the rest of the game can be extremely frustrating for fans. I do not think this is all on Moss I think Brady has something to do with it. Brady needs to do more to get Randy the ball and Randy needs to find ways to get open

No one has ever confused Randy with Hines Ward... why would you expect that to change 10-11 years deep into his carreer? He just isnt that kind of a player. But it's not anything new.

Moss was running short routes to keep the offense moving earlier in the season, and he has been productive. I wonder if this post would have appeared after a win. I wonder if it would have appeared immediately after his 56-yard TD.

The fact is Moss still has an entourage chasing him on every play, and likely goes away from the play to draw defenders away from the ball. Can he do more? Probably. Is he a dog/faker? That's a pretty big hyperbole given his production on the season. Part of his job is to draw defenders, so do not believe for a second Welker would have so many amazing games without him doing his part.

There are plenty of issues with the offense, from Brady to the last lineman on the field. Is Brady a dog for the bad throws? Are the linemen dogs for letting Brady take those shots? I'd say Moss is fairly low on the hit list at this point in correcting the issues on the team.

A bit strong don't you think? What did everyone on this board say when moss came in to Gillette as a member of the Raiders? Get physical with him, puch him in the mouth, and he'll dissappear, etc.. Now because he's in a pats uniform that doesn't apply? Guess what, he played the same way in 2007 and no one seemed to care. He's doing what he as always done. catch the deep ball.

I wish he would go over the middle more often and catch the tough ball but its just not what he does or ever did on a consistent basis in his career.

I get it, we are frustrated because it seems that any team if they want can take him out of the game. Maybe the OC needs to be more creative with him in motion, maybe Moss has to commit to catching balls over the middle?

Early on in the season, by many accounts, Moss was having a VERY hard time just getting around in the locker room midweek. I remember reading stories that it looked like the guy was really in pain. What did he go out and do? When Wes Welker was hurt, and Edelman was unable to step in, Moss went over the middle countless times per game, taking big hit after big hit, and helped that offense survive without a real running game. He didn't miss a game.

I think calling Moss a faker and a dog is a bit disingenuous.

Moss has never been a guy that has wanted to go across the middle, even in 2007 whenever he would catch a pass even close to the middle of the field he would immediate get down and avoid the big hit.

Going across the middle has never been Moss' game and its not like it has effected his play. Welker is our guy for going across the middle, not Randy Moss.

I've got no problem with Randy's effort. it's the way the offense is working with him that I don't like.

I'm glad to have him on the team.

Flame on.

according to Belichick and others, Randy does a good job of blocking. idk why you assume he doesnt

Yea this beating on Moss is misdirected. I have no problem with Randy. He is what he is.

Oh please, these stats you cite are irrelevant. This offense has scored 0, 0, 10, 7 and 7 in the 2nd half of their 5 losses and Brady has thrown critical game changing/mo changing picks against Indy, the Saints and the Dolphins when forcing the ball to his binkyness.
We do not need Brady keying in on Moss even more than he is now because it's a huge problem now and it's causing TO's.
What this offense needs is BALANCE.
Use Aiken, use Watson, use screens, pound the ball with Morris and Maroney....etc.
We saw that balance in the 1st quarter (Phil Simms commented that when the Pats spread the ball around and run their offense over center "they're as good as anyone in the league") when they scored on their 2 possessions and only allowed the Dolphins to touch the ball ONCE in that quarter. Unfortunately the Patriots O slowly reverted back to their anemic bad habits, i.e. Brady in shotgun, Brady looking at Moss and Welker, Maroney doesn't play, no Faulk screens, no Watson period, can't get critcal yards to eat up the clock...etc
Btw if any of you saw the Cardinals play last night then you saw what an elite hard working will run through walls to get open receiver looks like. Randy Moss is not in the same league as elite receivers like Larry Fitzgerald.
Moss is a feminine glider who doesn't extend himself to block or break up interceptions. Fitzgerald is a football player.
I'd be very happy if the Patriots traded Moss in the off-season. He has become a major distraction to this QB. The absence of Moss will refocus Brady on all his offensive tools. They'll be much less sexy and less explosive but they'll actually be able to score in the red zone and will win the types of games they're losing now.

He looks slower, less acceleration. He was injured earlier this season ........ I wonder if it's still lingering. That said, his ball defense has become crap. Even so, I'll keep him ........... but no more 'jump' balls please.

Pretty much every good receiver in the NFL does that. Wayne, Fitzgerald, Johnson, etc. Being able to play the rest of the game is way more important than getting an additional 5 yards when you already have the first down.

Right. Randy blows a block and its a big issue. Its a sign of who he is.

Welker misses a block an no one notices. And yes, Welker is a good blocker, but he still misses plenty of them.

A dog-faker?

So Randy Moss likes to pull that trick where you pretend to throw the stick and your dog goes running like crazy thinking you threw it?

This board is really something when the Pats lose a game. Lose two and the pitchforks and torches come out. Athletes and coaches we've long admired should be cut or fired. The team is worthless, doesn't know how to win, makes rudimentary errors that no other nfl team makes. Brady and Moss suck and BB has clearly gone senile.

Might as well stop watching now rather than continuing to let this team insult your intelligence.

They need him to do one of his patented across the field throws again

I've got only one thing to say to such a ridiculous statement: GFY.

Brady tries that and gets accused of forcing throws and making bad decisions because Moss doesn't back his play by fighting for tough catches. He did early in 2007 when he was in his prove it phase. That guy disappeared down the stretch and he has never returned. He will still make a play on occasion that leads some of us to believe he could do it more often. But he is firmly wedded to a philosophy of waiting on defenses to be lulled into mistakes where he can catch the ball in the open and not dragged down or hit hard. Maybe he believes the team needs him for the big game and he doesn't want to risk injury. But we're not gonna make the big game unless something changes and he didn't show up the last time although as that game unfolded our OL had as much to do with his limited opportunities as he did. Thing is when you know your opportunities are going to be limited it's imperative you make the most of them. Brady tries to, he cannot do it alone.
