0 points 2nd half against Jets
0 points 2nd half against Broncos
10 points and 2 red zone TO's 2nd half against Colts
7 points 2nd half against the Saints
7 points 1 red zone TO 2nd half against Dolphins

Inexcusable!!!!!!!
The media needs to start focusing on the far more experienced and talented offense as the real culprit in this current Patriot slide.
Putting even a majority of the blame on this rebuilding and young defense is totally bogus. They've been left hanging out to dry in the 4th quarter all to often this season by this pathetically anemic offense.
In their 5 losses this Patriot offense has scored an embarrassing 24 total points in 10 second half quarters of football.
That's 24 points in what is the equivalent of 2 and 1/2 full games.
Inexcusable!!!!!!!

Sounds right to me

There are two, and only two outcomes for this season:

1. This team finds a way to fix their 2nd half problems on offense.

2. They don't and they might miss the playoffs. If they do, they'd be lucky to win a single playoff game, let alone make it all the way to the superbowl.

I'm REALLY hoping for outcome #1, but so far it appears to be a pipe dream.

The defense keeps getting thrown under the bus for offensive failures (unfairly).

The D can't be blamed for coming up with multiple stops and giving up a FG.

For some reason nobody is on Moss' case, but that guy has been a no show the last couple games.

I am very dissappointed the O can't "seal the deal"... the 2nd half has been one big mess. I would have never thought that after 12 games, they would have lost so many games on the road after leading at half.

Today : Aiken penalty on the Welker 4th down conversion (that became decent punt, but...), Brady overthrows to Aiken & Welker, and the worst of all : the three last times they touched the ball - yikes.

These are stunning statistics.

The fact this offense can be stopped 5 games through 12 games in the 2nd half, shows how much this league is about coaching more than it is about just talent.

I have to agree.

The defense is being rebuilt. They're not going to shut teams down, if you control the clock and keep from sending them onto the field repeatedly they have shown they can hold most offenses to 17-20 ppg. Would be less if our offense wasn't out there piling up 3 and out's.

The offense is supposed to be our STRENGTH. Brady, Moss, Welker, Maroney and we can't move the ball to save our lives in the 2nd half. I agree with you, inexcusable that they can't win with the defense giving them a solid shot week in week out.

Crennel and Weiss had something like 20+ years of NFL experience before becoming coordinators.

Pees came straight from college. O'Brien came straight from college. Neither did diddly while even in college, and yet they were given the keys to major units in the NFL.

These coordinators did not pay their due like others have done... and it shows.

Considering that our O has studs like Brady, Moss, and Welker, those stats are eye-popping and downright embarassing.

Yes, yes, yes and heck yes!

This offense folds when it matters and completely destroys inferior opponents.

We have beaten zero teams this year with a record over 0.500, and no road wins through 12 games.

Let's toast to the explosive offense though, it piles up the yards and points when it doesn't matter, and is going to be just as memorable as the Oilers run-n-shoot.

I'm sorry, but both sides of the ball deserve their fair share of the blame in most of those games:

Against the Broncos, the Pats did give up 13 pointsin the second half and overtime.
Against the Colts, the Pats offense scored 34 points and the Pats were up by 17 points with 4 minutes left. You can blame the last TD on the inability of the offense to convert a 4th down, but the defense did give up a lot of points in the final minutes.
Against New Orleans, the defense let Brees throw a TD ever 4.6 pass he threw. That is a staggering number.
Against the Dolphins, the defense allowed the Dolphins to convert like 88% of their third downs in the first half, they gave up 416 yards to the Dolphins, never pressured Henne, and were beaten in the secondary by nobody receivers.

I am not excusing the offense because they have a huge share of the blame, but say it is all their fault for all the losses except for one is ridiculous.

I don't know why everyone wants to blame the offense all the time for the loss. Losses are rarely lossed on one side of the ball. In each of the last two games, this defense has played JV team bad for long stretches. In the past two weeks, the pass defense has allowed 706 passing yards, 7 TDs, and 1 INT. That is pathetic especially when one of the QBs they faced was Chad Henne.

The offense deserves to be blasted for the losses, but don't excused the defenses because the offense played bad. The defense especially the last two weeks has played equally as poor.

This defense played clutch in the last 25 minutes of the game.

The offense did nothing in the 2nd half, as they have done in each of this team's 7-5 losses.

This team is 7-5. We are what we are. We destroy inferior teams and fold against good ones.

The Pats defense gave up 12 of the Dolphins' 22 points in the last 25 minutes of the game. How exactly is that clutch? They played better and made some good stops at times during the second half, but clutch would have won this game with the Pats up 21-10 2/3 of the way through the third quarter.

After the quick 2nd half TD the Pats defense did a great job the rest of the way.

Meanwhile the Pats offense did nothing for the last 25 minutes of the game.

This team is as fun as the run-n-shoot and just as frustrating to boot.

-To me it's quite obvious what BB had in mind for this season.
-His idea was to make us good for a long time, hence the seymour trade, rather than amazing this year.
-He felt that we could pull this off because of our explosive offense.
-Our offense was to carry us this year and we'd still be legitimate SB contenders.
-His plan had an epic fail when Brady wasn't the same at the beginning of the year, He passed something like 50 times in 2 games?
-He then started to get ballsy because of the D that wasn't supposed to be good anyways, he lost faith, now almost every 4th and short is gone for which we fail at.
Face it guys, the D wasn't supposed to be good this year.
-And the O wasn't supposed to be this bad this year.
-And if we don't figure out how to fix the troubles on offense and the 2nd half, it's over for us. Not just for this year, but for few to come.
- We need a dramatic change, whether it be a major change of offensive scheme, defense, or firing O'Brien, ex. he can't seem to even call screen passes which we happen to be the best at, whatever it be, Moss is obviously getting frusturated, and teams are simply putting two on both Welker and Moss, Tommy Terrific is panicing, and we're on pace to choke the playoffs away.
-Now is time to panic. We need a 3rd receiver, sure Aiken will cut it now and had a nice TD today, but he isn't reliable like Gaffney was.
-Remember in 07 when we had 6 legitamate receivers? That's where the success came from is all of the options.
WE NEED HELP, APOCALYPSE NOW, WHO WILL SAVE US?
Lolz, not that bad we can be a decent team for a few years, but we are above that with the talent we have.
