We've now blown leads of :

10 to DEN
17 to IND
14 to MIA

Add in the 24 pt lead to the NYJ, which was shaved to 10 a few weeks ago, and I see major blame on the defense. It is an absolute sieve. I don't see how anyone can think we have the players this yr on defense to really compete.

No way you can blame the offense, IMO. At least they do their job by getting points on the board. Even when it was 24-17 last week v. NO, the defense let them score 2 more long TD's.

We had 14 points after two drives. We scored 7 the rest of the way and we pay a ton of money to the offense.

Sorry, it's more on the offense. Including Brady and his stupid INT.

This loss is 100% on the offense. The defense did its job, got fourth quarter stops, and created turnovers. They weren't amazing, but they were competent. It was the offense that aggressively sucked after the first quarter.

ITS THE OFFENSE!!!
The offense not converting gives the Dolphs chances to score..The offense killed us...

The defense must take a share of the blame but, Bill O'Brien and Tom Brady are the main reason the Pats lost today.

Some fans are never able to blame the offenses for losses.

This one was on the offense. It puts immense strain whenever an opposing QB has a dozen+ drive opportunities in a game.

The offense was clearly to blame today. That said, I thought it was eye opening how bad the Pats pass defense was against Chad Henne today.

I feel like their is an outside chance of the offense being fixed. The defense? Yikes.

I was looking at it more simply, as in the offense put us in position to win by getting us major leads in these games--therefore the defense wasn't doing it's job by allowing the other team to continue scoring.

But obviously I am in the minority, so apparently I am looking at things the wrong way, and admitting I am wrong.

I saw 2 basic mistakes today on offense, one was not kicking the FG, which could be blamed on the coaching. The 2nd was not running the ball when on the 5, at 2nd and goal--therefore leading to the INT. Other than that, the offense seemed to move the ball pretty well, as Brady, Moss, Welker, and Aiken put up good numbers.

Basically, I feel a lot better/more confident when the offense is on the field, than I do the defense. They continue to make mediocre QB's such as Edwards, Orton, Sanchez (1st time) and Henne look damn good. I'll meet you in the middle and say the offense has problems, but we have zero pass rush, trouble even stopping the run, and horrible CB coverage on our L side (their R) of the secondary. I still think we're 8-4 even 9-3 with improvements on D.

When does Adalius do ANYTHING. What a BUST he has been for us.

Let's be serious here. It's not the offense. It's not the defense. It's BOTH.

The defense was far from good today but come on man. They outright stopped the Fins multiple times in that 4th quarter and our offense did NOTHING to help them out. That is a crucial time when you don't necessarily need points, but at least get a few first downs and run some clock, let them REST.

This is not a dominant defense and it needs work yes. But look at the talent we have on offense, they are a far bigger disappointment when they do NEXT TO NOTHING in the 2nd half in every loss. You keep putting the defense on the field time after time, they are going to give up points.

as bad as the D was they did their job in the 4th quarter..the offense failed them. The offense has no identity. its not a running team, its a not short passing team, it isnt a big down field team ..they dont know what they are and are searching and trying too hard esp in the RZ.
That int to moss shouldve been had in the indy game too..Brady always tries that and rarely works like the jets game.

the defense is pathetic..no pass rush will equal more loses. When it's 4th down and 6 and a QB like Henne has all day to throw...then something is wrong.

This loss was definitely on the offense. What did they do in the 2nd half???

You can't always blame the defense for every loss just because in any loss they gave up the last meaningful points...

Yeah, this is probably the best answer--no doubt.

Personally, I myself feel more at ease when the offense is out there. That's just me.

One ??? to the supporters of the defense. How do you blame the offense when they moved the ball pretty much the whole game? I'm not saying it's all about the numbers/stats, but the offense had pretty good numbers. What kind of good numbers were there on defense?

You may only have 7 posts, but your way ahead of many 1,000 post guys. Welcome aboard.

The lack of a pass rush is infuriating, but this one is more on the offense. How many times can you ask a defense to keep a team out of field goal range in the 4th quarter when your offense produces NOTHING? You can't pin this one on #12 alone, it's everything... play calling, game management, etc.

Thank you. The defense made several notable key stops in the 2nd half. Tom Brady is good but he's more like 2003 Peyton Manning at this point.

The defense has its SHARE of problems but given its opportunities it HAS kept us in games most of the time. Our offense continuously going three and out might have something to do with it too :)
