listening to him he seems to have a big problem with brady being taken outin the end of the game and cites that in the washington game brady was in the gamewith 38-0 with 3mins to in the 3th quarter. Obviously holley had to keep reminding him that brady was out inthe 4th quarter before he switched reasoning that pats couldve pulled a comeback like the 03 colts

Peter King, SI/NBC Sports on WEEI

King was banging this drum on twitter earlier this week. I don't understand what his point is. If BB has seen enough he can't take his starters out?

Sure mathmatically could they hvae scored 21 points to tie in five minutes? Maybe. But anyone who actually watched the game knows A) the Pats offense was sputtering and had zero big-play ability vs. the Saints D and to score 21 points they would've needed at least 2-3 BIG plays and B) the Pats D was not going to get two 3-and-outs against the Saints O.

Brady had just thrown an ill-advised INT. Perhaps Coach had simply seen enough and decided, by pulling Brady with 5 minutes to go, down 21, he would be sending him a message. That is, "You suck today, and you've sucked too much this year, and you need to play a lot better than this, because it's an honor to be an NFL QB, not a birthright".

Or maybe Brady got a concussion and broke his finger.

Peter King doesn't understand that Belichick only runs up the score on coaches he doesn't like:

Joe Gibbs (don't know why)

Jeff Fisher - critical spygate comments

Wade Phillips - crtical spygate comments

Any jets coach

Peter King is an irrelevant turd.
Yeah, I said it.

Have you noticed how Peter :blahblah: :blahblah: never gives us a "[insert Patriot name here] called me 20 minutes after the game".....or "I got a text message from [insert Patriot name here] in the lockerroom 10 minutes after their win"?
It's so cool how Peter King is considered "non-essential personnel" in Foxborough. :D

We weren't playing well enough on offense to put up 3 touchdowns in 5 minutes nor were we playing well enough on defense to stop the Saints. Belichick did the right thing for the rest of the season.

Greg Wiliams was the HC when the bills gave em beatdown back in the lawyer milloy saga ... Guess who the D-Cord in Washington back in 07 ... Yup, . But Williams got em back this passed week:eek:

Anyone in the media who went after the Pats on Spygate and deliberately left out the facts that were known is an a**-clown with an agenda. King was tops on that list, along with the gleeful ESPN.

I have no issue with anyone in the media being critical of the Patriots, and no issue with calling out Belichick for breaking the rules. He did and the Patriots paid a huge price both financially and with a first round draft pick. I won't say otherwise and acknowledge what we did.

That said, the facts were that we taped from the field as opposed to the endzone/coachbox areas and that was what we were penalized for. Those guys like King, ESPN and Marshall Faulk simply used the ambiguous term "cheating" and left it at that, leaving any person to fill in the void of what they were actually accused of with whatever evil they could imagine. That is irresponsible journalism.

Peter King is not a fan, he is a journalist. At least present both sides. I live in LA now, and it is pure comedy the thing that most sports fans out here think Belichick did. A guy in my office actually told me the Pats got busted for shooting the Jets playbook and shooting the coaches in their booth. WTF?! Well, when it's left up to the uninformed hater, they think we did the worst thing imaginable and I can't even blame them. They guy who actually gave the Pats a fair shake was Al Michaels on that MNF game against the Chargers right after the Jets. He stated what the Pats did and why it was against the rules.

And IMHO, the only reason why King went so hardcore on this issue is that for years he was accused, and rightfully so, of being a Pats ball-washer. His pendulum was so far one way he went the polar opposite once Spygate broke. F him.

....sorry, I just can't stand that fraud.

I don't know what game he was watching, but Tommy may have gotten killed had he stayed in there, it was like 2nd graders playing dodge ball with 6th graders, and the Pats OL certainly wasn't playing the part of the 6th graders.

Brady and other offensive starters are removed late in a one-sided loss - Media: "Why pull them so soon?"

Brady is removed from the game in the late 3rd quarter/early 4th quarter of a one-sided win - Media: "Why leave him in so long?"

Brady and the offensive starters play in one series of the 3rd quarter against the Titans this year - Media: "Why play him in the 2nd half? "

It seems that any move the Patriots make will meet with criticism from a portion of the media. After the Seymour trade, Belichick was chided for not being loyal. Right around the same time, the Vikings cut (not traded) Bobby Wade shortly after he agreed to take a pay cut. Guess who was referred to as a ruthless, disloyal, jerk?

This has gone beyond "Belichick broke the rules in 2007 and I felt strongly about it" and entered the realm of Britney Spears/Jon & Kate/Octo-Mom obsession. King and his cronies paparazzi when it comes to this franchise.

The only silver lining of an eventual decline by the Patriots (hopefully, at least a decade away) is that these people will move on to criticize every facet of another team and we can just concentrate on football.

well said.you should 'tweet' it to king..

I am beginning to lean on the believe that CBB had seen enough and so was disgusted with his strting unit, that he wanted to send them a message, and in front of a national audience. If that does not get your attention, nothing will.

Couldn't have said it any better. If you didn't watch the game and just read the stat sheet, yea, may be 21 points in 5 minutes left with Pats offense seem doable but if you saw that game, everyone knew it was over and wasn't worth the injuries. I was more shocked that they left Breese in there for entire time. Now that was a dumb move and I don't see anyone *****ing and moaning about that.

Peter King is dead to me ... it's too bad he has to live in Boston because he sucks.

That's because it was against the hated "Evil Empire". In their eyes, if Brees & Co. could have laid more on us, we would have "deserved" it.

Maybe that's when TB hurt his finger.

Didn't Manning throw an interception right before he unleashed his barrage of missiles on our secondary? Never, never give up!
