On ESPN today they had a guy from the Vegas sportsbook who said percentage odds to win this years Super Bowl is mainly between 5 teams.....

Saints 20%
Colts 16%
Vikings 12%
Patriots 11%
Chargers 9%

Goes on to say that this means that there is a 68% chance that one of these teams will win it all

50% possibility that Either the Colts or Saints make the SB

The Colts are more likely to finish the season undefeated since the schedule is in their favor (forgot the percentage given for each)

Surprising that the Bengals are getting no respect despite the fact that they are sweeping thier division not to forget that they swept the defending SB champion Steelers and history shows that a team that sweeps its division has won 5 of the past 6 Super Bowls (the Bengals could be joined by the Saints and Colts as 6-0 in thier division)

Only a 1% chance that BOTH teams (Colts,Saints) go into the Super Bowl at 18-0

That would be sweet to meet the Bengals in the afccg.

That's too high in my opinion... even assuming you're only talking about twelve teams (which right now it includes more as potentials), and give all 12 equal odds, we'd be looking at about 8.3%. I don't think currently we're that much higher than the average, especially with the Colts and Saints taking up a huge chunk of the pie.

Vegas is giving us too much respect and not giving the Saints much love. Barring a collapse of epic proportions, the Saints should make the Super Bowl with that incredible home field advantage. I think they would be a 7 point fav over their AFC opponent in the SB

Would beating an undefeated Saints in the Superbowl erase any of the horror still left over from the game that shall not be mentioned?

I think it would take away that sinking feeling I still get in my stomach when I think about that game, by about 75%.

Why not? Giants lost to us in the regular season (although not by as large of a margin) and were a low seed in the playoffs. Just WINNING the SB would make me feel better... don't need any more than that.

When this team finds a pass rusher,MAYBE we can then have a chance to beat Elite QBs like Brees,Manning and Favre this year (Yes,I said the 40 year old Favre is an Elite QB in 2009)

Since we can't obtain a pass rusher there is only one way to win it all...score 40 or more every game in the playoffs.

Before we speculate on our Superbowl odds, what are the Pat's chances

of being in the playoffs? I would not bet my house on them.

That's about 10% more than I had them...

If they beat Miami then they SHOULD go to 11-5 at least and 11-5 is going to be enough to win this putrid of a division.

The Dolphins will probably lose at least another game besides this week if they lose this game, especially if the Steelers need a win to make the playoffs in the last week.

The only loss I see would be at Houston in the last week,The Texans have a great passing game with Andre Johnson who will tear it up against this secondary.

The Patriots are almost a near certain #4 seed IMO and looking into my crystal ball it looks like facing Pittsburgh or Denver in Foxboro in round 1

11% chance huh.......they haven't been watching the games have they.

I don't know if Pats make it to AFC championship. Here are 3 reasons:

1- Our half time adjustment sucks.
2- TB can't carry the team offensively.
3- D is the work in progress.

11%, huh??? That is about 3X greater than the odds I would have given them (roughly 4%). But, if they raise the Lombardi in Feb., I will be glad to be have been proven wrong.

Denver or Pittsburgh.......thats not a good wildcard round :(

The pats got 5 weeks against decent opponents to fix the offense and defense. If we run the table, I saw in another thread, we will probably have the #2 seed.

"incredible home field advantage"???????????
I'll take Adrian Peterson and the Vikes D to overcome that advantage. The one potential fly in the Vikes soup is Brett Favray reverting back to his mindless jerk ways and throwing a senseless pick at the wrong time.
Saints D is nothing special and can be beaten early and often.

It's hilarious to see the lack of love for the Pats here on a Patriots board. Amazing how frontrunning and fickle this fanbase is.
So many of you greatly underestimate the talent and ability of this Patriot team and their ability to improve over time and fix some of what has been wrong this season.
They played horribly against the Saints with many of their wounds self inflicted.
The defense was horrible, the offense was horrible, the special teams were horrible. Personally I'd feel much worse about the Saints game had the Pats had played well and lost by 2 or 3 scores. I'll be glad to take a rematch with the Saints anytime and any place.

Pittsburgh doesn't scare me at all home or on the road. Have you noticed the only way this current Steeler team gets to the Super Bowl is when they don't have to go through the Patriots to get there?? :D
Denver is a problem when we have to play them out there. The Mile High city is the worst venue for Tom Brady. For some reason he never seems to play well out there. If the game is at home I love us against the Broncos.

Denver is not winning the West,In fact the Chargers have a schedule where they could win out and beat Cincy along the way.

Ummmm, so you thing the Fins or Jets win the division??
