OT: Could Sam Bradford slip to the Pats?

BEFORE ANYONE SAYS IM GIVING UP ON BRADY/ THE SEASON that is not the case. I still have plenty of optimism for the rest of the season, and the near future. I bring this up because this guy (Bradford) really looks like a stud (before the injury of course). I think Brady still has at least 2 more solid years ahead of him, but with his contract ending after next season, and the chance that Bradford may very well slip in the draft to the Patriots, is there a chance they go after him. While I still think Tom is one of the very best currently playing, he doesn't look like he is having fun anymore. It's become very business with him.

When Cassel was here last year, you could really see some the young kid, who's main goal was to simply have fun and lead his team to a win, that Brady used to be. Assuming the Pats will go after a solid pass rusher in free agency, is it time to start planning for post-Brady and bring in some of that fresh enthusiasm with, what I believe, is one of the most talented young QB's to come out of college in a long time (especially with what is once again a surplus of early round picks)...that being said I am still looking forward to the rest of Brady's time here and am doing my best to maintain a positive outlook for the rest of the season...

just curious as to what people's opinion's may be...like I stated earlier, the main goal this offseason will be passrusher, but IF, and ONLY IF the Pats are in a position where Bradford is available (and they have picked up someone like, say, Aaron Kampman in free agency to rush the passer), would you take a shot at him and do you think it is a possibility?

I dont expect many people to be on board with this, and rightfully so, but its just here for suggestion and opinion...

Why would you want Sam Bradford? We have much more dyer needs right now then QB. In fact, thats the last thing we need right now. He will be still a top 10 to 15 pick anyway even with his injury, so this is an overreaction to last night. Our draft needs are in this order.

Why would want Sam Bradford? We have much more dyer needs right now then QB. In fact, thats the last thing we need right now. He will be still a top 10 to 15 pick anyway even with his injury, so this is an overreaction to last night. Our draft needs are in this order.

I wouldn't want Bradford even if I wanted a QB. There are a half dozen guys I would prefer. And you nailed the priorities nicely.

Don't want him because he's too skinny. However, I said the same thing about DeSean Jackson.

Anyways, the Pats primary focus is the pass rush. The end.

Why waste the 1st round pick on a QB? You should consider that Brady was a 6th round pick. JaMarcus Russell went first overall and I remember when he got drafted how Mel Kiper was saying he had potential to be a top 5 QB in this league. So alot of scouts thought were wrong on him. There are alot of busts at the QB position who get drafted in the first round. Matt Cassel was a 7th round pick and is a good QB.

That's my estimation as well. I don't really see any point in drafting a QB for another 3-4 years, any sooner and most likely we're just wasting years off the new guy's career.

I don't see the need yet either but just because we lucked out with Brady and there have been plenty of 1st round busts does not mean you should never draft a qb in the first round. I think there's a guy in Indy that went first too and he's worked out pretty well so far.

Sergio Kindle: I would love to have him. A dynamic DE/OLB who can rush the passer. There have been varying results on draft boards of where he will go. Some put him in the teens, and others put him to early to mid second round.

Jonathan Dwyer: He will be taken way too early. He is projected to be a top 10 pick. The Running backs are deep in this draft, so I think we could get a quality in the 3rd round.

Rolando McClain: Would be good, but he doesn't fit our need of rushing the passer. He may not even come out.

Greg Hardy: LOVE HIM!!!! He's projected by many to go in the top 20, which means that the Pats would have to try to trade up. I think this kid will be an absolute stud. He's 6-5, 265 pounds, and has apparently been clocked at 4.67 seconds in the 40 yard dash. Now, he has some injury problems, but I honestly think he could be worth the risk. He's probably the best DE coming out this April. Would be a great pick there.

Taylor Mays: Probably going to be a top 10 pick, and I see this as our 3rd or 4th need right now. Last year, I would have him very high on my draft board, this year there are bigger fish to fry.

Anthony Davis: The OL is a need and if this kid drops into the 2nd round like most are projecting, and a prospect like Kindle isn't there I snag him. He would fit right at RT, with Sea Bass at LT going forward.

J.Best: See above about running backs. I think we could get a kid like Toby Gerhart in the 3rd round. With how Maroney is playing, I don't see this as much of a problem as I did earlier in the season.

Golden Tate: Is going to be coming out next season, so he won't be an option. I don't think we need a receiver until next year with Moss being a free agent. I see it as the 4th need right now.
Carlos Dunlap-even after the arrest: Will be gone long before we pick and probably not coming out this year.

Jermaine Gresham: What a talent!! I would be drooling over him in the 2nd round if he were to drop there. Give Watson the pink slip and put this kid in.

Tim Tebow: Probably going to be a late first to 2nd round pick. He is more suited for the wildcat and why would you take the ball out of Brady's hands? No thanks.

Tony Pike: Probably a 2nd rounder and it is not worth it. Pass.

Probably not much. O'Brien would have gone 5-wides/shotgun and told Brady to throw it after the first quarter even if we had Adrian Peterson.

I want DE/OLB Brandon Graham (Michigan) in the 1st, RB Toby Gerhart (Stamford) somewhere in the 2nd and Charlie Weis or perhaps Mark Whipple (or any OC other than O'Brien).

6'5 230LBS

Ran a pro style offense as a 3 year starter, as FAU does not and will not run the Spread or wildcat (to my delight) as long as Schnellenberger is there.

He won't go to the Pats and may be a long shot at getting into the NFL but he could be a nice project if you want to invest some time and have the right QB coach.
