Belicheck + Who = Pats???

As I have said before Belicheck cannot do it all.

Pats need fresh blood from outside organization at OC and DC.

First to break up group mindset and bring new wrinkles and adjustments.

Belicheck cannot be spread this thin and expect to not only coach/GM the team but train green coaches. Makes may long for Weis and Crennel days.

On the Offense - where were protected rollouts?
On the Defense- NO Pass rush

BONUS FRUSTRATION - OLB stink no pass rush Burgess, Cain and Guyton second string at best please get new ones in offseason. Only Sack was AD coming up middle.

Congratulations, Saints fans.

I can't remember the last time another team actually dominated us from start to finish the way your team dominated us last night. Good old fashioned butt kicking. Your team deserves all the credit in the world, and looks like a bona fide SB team. (But watch out for the Vikings).

Payton and Williams outcoached us (understatement) and the Saints looked faster and more aggressive than the Pats all night. Roby's tackle of Welker from behind on the punt return was a game-changing play for me, and emblematic of the Saints' superior speed on both sides of the ball.

I agree that the Pats need fresh blood on the coaching staff. BB needs to bring in a bona fide OC and DC who can bring creativity and aggressiveness to both sides of the ball. The spread offense and the BBDB defense are dinosaurs.

At the time it happened I felt the same... thought that was a big swing in mo for the Saints

Not only did it prevent us from getting (an easy) 6 points and IIRC an 11 point lead , but showed the mind set and detrmination of the entire N.O. team in this game

Thanks for being classy Pats fans. You guys are the first fans of a team that we have played this year that have not come up with excuses about why you lost the game. All we have heard all year long is the refs this, if we just would have done this, Saints are lucky, they have not beaten anybody blah, blah, blah. I have not seen one of these types of post on your board. I know a lot of you feel like we as Saints fans look at this as our SB but to me it just was a big win. We needed validation and beating the Pats was the only way to get it and that speaks volumes about your organization and the way it is looked at. We want what you have already and a week 12 win is just another step towards that. The respect Bill showed last night was something I have never seen out of him and he was already one of my favorite coaches. I could care less about spygate or him not shaking Mangini's hand. All I know is the man can coach his butt off and I think of Payton as a offensive clone of Bill. Both are aggressive, go for your throat coaches and that is the way I want my team coached. Hope you guys finish strong.

Hogwash.

Fresh blood = outside coordinators with established systems = NOT GONNA HAPPEN.

There is nothing wrong with the system or the scheme that a talent enfusion/upgrade on offense (OL and #3 WR) and some talent upgrades (OLB) and growth via experience on a defense in transition would not remedy.

This team may not win it all this year. I know that is unacceptable to segments of the fan base, but it's not the end of the world for the organization. It just means they aren't there yet and have to do a better job team/roster building and coaching the scheme.

I didn't mention "established systems".

But I think there's plenty wrong with the system:

- On offense we play much too much out of the spread offense. We need to go back to play action, mutliple TE sets, being physical on the OL, and being less predictable. It's more than a 3rd WR for option.
- On defense we don't attack enough and play too much BBDB. We need to get more aggressive and prioritize the pass rush. I'm not suggesting we try and get **** LeBeau (though it would be nice), but Dean Pees ain't cutting it.

I personally think that BB would benefit from some outside blood and fresh ideas. Look at what Mike Zimmer's done for Cincinnati. Someone like that.

Nah man, we just got our asses kicked, congrats. We never get dominated like that which is why i thought a lot of you were being ****y but after that game you had every reason to be. Hope you all go 19-0, unless you play us in the Superbowl.

I've always liked Payton, and think he's one of the most creative offensive minds I've seen in a long while.

The thing that I think you guys have most going for you is that so far this year you've played your best in what were probably the 2 most hyped games for you - the week 6 showdown against the undefeated Giants, and last night. Both were statement games. That bodes well for your ability to step up when it counts and deal with the pressure, things that are critical if you want to make a deep run in the playoffs.

Good luck, and again, congrats on an awesome performance. Hope we get another shot at you this season, but we've got a lot of work to do to work our way back to that point.

Dolphins 2006 at Miami was the last time they were dominated with TB at QB.

The "game changer" for me was McKenzie's pick in the second quarter on a poor throw from Brady - the game's momentum shifted after that play.

BTW, Romeo Crennel and Charlie Weis are both available.

The Saints are the best team in the NFL, period. Everybody who watches football regularly knows that. I'd caution you that it is pretty difficult to sustain that for the entire season and the playoffs (see 2007 Pats). But the only team standing between them and the SB is the Vikings. I'd say good luck against the Colts in the SB but I don't think the Colts be there.

Re: Payton + Williams = Saints Good While

What the hell does Saints good while mean? Anyways, as much as I'd want Romeo and Weiss back, I don't think BB will take them back because of his ego. BB has wanted to prove he can win super bowls without them but he hasn't. BB wants to prove that he was the brains behind the success and not them. I think we're going to continue to see below average to average coordinators for a long time. We should get used to it.

Thanks for the kind words. I have seen some very classy posts on this site. The Patriots are a class act. Your coach and QB gave credit to the Saints and did not make excuses. I only hope that the Saints can have the same success that the Patriots have enjoyed. Good luck in the playoffs.
