After his TD, he was running a bit funny. I hope he is ok.

I think he's fine...they just ditched the running game for the most part after that .

I mean Brady and all of the skill position players got pulled with 5mins to go...

Instead of not establishing the run, our new offense is to establish the run, then immediately go to 5 wides, even though we only have two WRs.

I'm sure those desperate heaves into triple coverage will start to work soon.

Yeah, it made no sense. I thought Maroney ran his best all season in the 1st quarter, then he just seemed to disappear. I think this has more to do with the score and us being behind and having to pass a lot more. Maroney struggles with picking up LBs when they blitz.

Agreed. I thought the run game was there tonight, and as usual, we started passing everywhere.

LoMo fumbled for the 3rd game in a row. He deserved to be benched.

You can run it when you're down by 14 and have a lot of time left.

It was obviously Maroneys fumble that took him out of the game. Pats didnt want to risk him fumbling again.

No you really cant consistantly run the ball when your down by 14 in the 2nd half.

It wasnt Maroneys fumble that took him out of the game, he scored his 2nd TD after he fumbled.

He recovered his own fumble by forcing another fumble. I'd give him props for that. He didn't quit on the play.

Huh???? At the 9:00 mark, we get the kickoff from saints after they went up 14. By the way, thats the 3rd qtr. That, in my book, is not panic time. They could have run the ball all they wanted. Plenty of time left.

Well on that particular drive they ran the ball 3 and threw it 6 and moved the ball into the red zone but didnt get the 4th and 3. Pretty successful drive, the best of the 2nd half besides the TD.

The next time they got the ball was in the 4th quarter and when your down by 2 scores in the 4th you cant really run the ball, you need to score as quickly as possible.

That 2nd drive was at the very beginning of the 4th. We'll agree to disagree on this.

You cant really run the ball when your down by 14 and playing catch up...

It's not a matter of running the ball, it's having a coherent game plan, mixing it up to keep the defense spread and guessing, and taking a shot once in a while when it's there.

Since Weis is in the news, maybe go back and look at what a game plan is like (with a lot less talent).

I include McDaniels in the beautiful design, but no game plan, category. Any beautiful design can be defended. A game plan that constantly seeks to change and make the defense react, really can't. Charlie weis would use plays in the first quarter that were unsuccessful, to play off a similar look and sucker the defense in the fourth quarter.

Notice how we still look to go up by 3-4 touchdowns and hope we can hang on. That should tell you something about what has happened to our offense. When you have the perfect play in the second half and you keep coming up with them, it is no accident.

We have as much or more talent on offense as we had in the SB years.
