...and step away from medicine drawer!!! 2 out 3 of our Superbowl victories came in seasons where we got trashed just like we did tonight.

FACT 1: We are still 2 games up our division
FACT 2: This defense is nowhere near ready for the playoffs, but there still are 5 games for BB to figure it out. He has before and I would never bet against him.
FACT 3: The only time we would have to face the Saints would be in the Super Bowl, and personally I would bet on the Vickings
FACT 4: If you are true fan, you should stand by your team after a tough loss just as profoundly as you every week when we went 16-0.

I'm in the garage with my car running right now taking deep breaths

But seriously I hope we can rebound from this. I know we are capable of more. We just had a terrible night. I know we're better than this

:agree: AMEN!

FACT 5: This team is average. Come to grips with that fact and the rest of the season is easier to tolerate. Lets just get into the playoffs and hope they suddenly figure out how to win games on the road.

well the 07 giants were just average until they got to the SB, who knows what can happen in the playoffs in a sudden death format, all i know is that win or lose im gonna be cheering my ass of for this team!

You can stand by your team after a tough loss and cheer your ass off for them while still acknowledging their obvious faults. Hopefully we can strike the right balance.

I'm still hoping that we end this year on a joyous note, but I have to agree. I tend to think that last year's team was better than this year's team.

I have been very supportive after every Pats' loss. Even in the Indy loss, I thought they showed more than enough to beat the Colts in the playoffs. Tonight, they played at a ridiculously low level. Just pathetic.

No pass rush. Even if they did have one, the corners played pretty badly. The Saints RB's were running right thru our LB's. Brady made some terrible decisions and it's looking like Moss is becoming easier and easier to shut down. Not to mention our OL give up too much pressure.

Don't get me wrong, the Saints stepped it up and played a great game, but by this time in the season, the Pats should look like they're playing for SOMETHING. I'm not going to give them any more excuses... they need to start showing up to games.

The proverbial take a deep breath thread ... hate these threads.

Yeah but do we have a front 4 like the giants had then or have now?..1 Sack i think we got 1 sack tonight

Forget the 2007 Giants. That team had the most ferocious pass rush in recent memory during that final stretch of that season. What about this current crew makes you think they will develop the kind of pass rush necessary to change games? What, is Pierre Woods suddenly going to morph into Justin Tuck? I'll be cheering right alongside you. I think they'll win out in the regular season. But reality is reality.

I'm not panicking at all.
I've just realized that we're gonna need more luck (just as much as the SB years) than i had hoped for. and by "luck" i mean who we play in the playoffs.
We are probably not getting a bye.... so a combination of @SD then @Indy then NO/Minn will be near impossible to go through.

Your right our pass-rush is nothing compared to them but the 07 giants didn't have our offense either and if only we could the OL friggen healthy for once i believe we can outscore any team, also like i said crazy things can happen in the playoffs in a sudden death-format see the pats-chargers 06 playoff game or sb42 for examples.

You saw the game tonight right?

Now you want us to "take a deep breath?"

Seriously, this team lacks leadership, coaching, defense, 3rd WR, and can't hang with the true elites of the league.

If you think there is a trip to Miami in the cards this year you are seriously kidding yourself, not with what's wrong with this team at this point anyways.

I agree. Crazy things can happen and we could end up being on the good side of some craziness...for once this season. But until it happens, it's just that. Hope. And I think you make your own luck in a lot of cases. We haven't been so good at that lately.

What they need to do is lick their wounds and try and get better over these last 5 games. After that who knows.

We lost to probably the best team in football at their place (which was rocking...Saints fans are some of the best in the league). Sure it sucks to lose, but it's not the end of the world.

Well all I can say is I was fine with this loss.

Given all the changes on the defensive side and Brady's return from a knee injury I'll be happy to see them go 11-5 or 12-4 and win the division. Anything can happen in the playoffs.

#1 yes the AFC east will not be hard to win with the jets and the fish just sucking it up every week

#2 they are just not top 5 on that side of the ball they faced a team that avrage's 37 point's a game and they gave up 38 not a big deal but when they face a team with a good O they will give up some point's they will not turn in to the 2000 ravens in 5 week's when the playoff's start they are who they are a ok D maybe a top 10.... D but not a top 5..... D

#3yes they will not have to play the saints unless the pats make it to the SB but the pats still have to play team's like the colts and san diego who both have passing game's as good at the saints

#4 no one is jumping ship because they lost to the best team in the NFL we are just saying the truth they are not the best team in football any more the D is not great and they cant win on the road saying the truth dose not mean your not a fan any more

I'm not sure what some of you folks have been watching, this IS a MEDIOCRE team.
As stated, please don't try and compare the 07 Giants to this team, that team had a TOUGH DEFENSE, not the Lillies that Billy keeps trotting out there.
