I'm concered about crowd noise tonight

Particularly if there are 2 or 3 subs on the oline.

From what I've heard, and what I expect, this crowd will be louder, by far, than any venue in the league, perhaps the loudest in history. Their fans are stoked, understandably so. this is the biggest game the saints have hosted in 42yrs.

If Brady can't hear the call from the sidelines, will the refs dare call the rule on the books regarding crowd noise? I doubt it. The rule hasn't been enforced for more than a decade. The helmet radio is supposed to make it impossible to disrupt communication. If the decible level exceeds 140, I don't think it'll help much.

First drive shouldn't be a problem since it'll be scripted. Each player will know the play and the snap count. After that? I won't be surprised to see multiple delay of game and false start penalties, moreso than we've ever seen. I'd hate to see something like that effect the game on a large scale.

I'm usually not a worrier, but this is a unique circumstance. I really hope i'm wrong.

We'll be playing at least one playoff game on the road most likely, might as well get used to a road playoff atmosphere. It won't get any easier from here on, this is another test of whether they're ready.

They practiced all week in the field house to help simulate a dome atmosphere. I would expect a few more players to be wearing wristbands tonight, but yeah, like DaBronxPats14 said, a lead will work great for crowd noise.

I don't agree. Except for maybe one or two games, the noise in the old indy dome was managable.The Colt fans are a laid back bunch. Hence the rumors that they were pumping noise in.

I don't think the Saints crowd will go quiet unless the Pats have at least a 3 or 4 touchdown lead, and maybe not even then. They've seen the Saints come back from multiple 1st half deficits this year.

My hope is they've been drinking for many hours and will fade in the 2nd half.

How soon we forget. Those Colt games at their dome was LOUD. If anyone can handle it it'll be Brady. O Line is equiped and Moss played in a dome and mostly in domes in NFC. also I was at Pats/Jets game here in week 2 granted it's not a dome but dome or no dome it was REAL LOUD. Place actually was rocking. Wrecks Ryan put a call in to come Loud to Jet fans and they did. Brady & Co handled it well they were just out of sink with Brady just coming back no Welker Etc Etc Etc.

That'll work...as long as he's calling the plays. He doesn't, at least for the most part. He gets them thru the radio link.

If he can hear the calls, or if the crowd does what most crowds do - only pump up the volume as they break huddle - I'm won't be concerned. I agree that they've been to loud venues before and handled it for the most part.

If thats the case, they can do what they did in the jets game - have the asst coaches hold up signs with the play 3s on the sidelines, and all the players check out their wrist bands for their responsibilities.

Whether they were pumping crowd noise in or not, the allegations existed because the place was insanely loud. Kind of a backwards argument to say that it wasn't loud, which is why there were allegations out there that attempted to explain how it could be louder than should have been possible...

I think the Pats track record in the RCA dome should be cause for worry, not confidence- the Pats have historically gotten pwned there. That said, I totally agree that they have to be able to win these games if they want to win it all, so they'd better start being able to win games like this now.

I don't blame you for worrying, as I am worried too.

Having lost all of our games on the road (I don't consider the neutral London game a road game, as many rooted for us) certainly doesn't help. With 4 of our last 6 on the road, and a probable road playoff game or two approaching, we have the learn how to handle this problem one way or another.

It will indeed be crazy loud, but I look at it as another preperation exercise for what's to come down the stretch.

The positive is that it has been a problem this yr, (winning away from home) and it'll be another example of getting thrown into the fire--as a way to try and fix the problem.

Excellent point about Pats track record at RCA Dome. I wasn't downplaying that just pointing out that Brady and Co are well aware of noise Saints fans can bring inside their dome from experiences at Colts through yrs and at Jets in week 2. Lets BRING IT play solid it'll all work itself out.

You make a good point abt needing to be able to overcome the road problems/challenges in order to progress down the stretch.

I am not sure that our problems lie AT Indy however, I think our problems lie against Indy in general, as we've lost 5 out of the last 6 against them overall.

Believe it or not, the NE Patriots record against the spread (which means we're either winning outright, or keeping it damn close due to very small pointspreads) in the city of Indianapolis AT Indy is 16-2-1 in the past 19 games. This includes the RCA dome and Lucas.

In other words, out of the last 19 trips to Indy, we've only lost 2 times against the pointspread, which means we're often winning outright when favored, or keeping it close when a slight underdog. The one tie came when favored by 4 in 2007.

Although we've played Indy tougher lately, (AFCCG 06,07,08,09) they still seem to have our number overall, as proved by their current 5 out of 6 streak.
