They have TE Dave Thomas?

Oh no, we're doomed!

He's playing as well for them as he did for the Pats. I'm not sure we lost anything by having Baker instead, though.

this special rules for brady being perpetrated by the media is really getting to me now

It actually aids the Patriots.

I want the defenders thinking twice when they try to sack him.

Good going.

It should be called the Carson Palmer Rule.

Why? They came up with the rule after Brady was injured, Carson Palmer was injured more than 2 season before they finally came up with the rule.

What a surprise! Another turd article!

I know, but they started calling more roughing the passer calls after that season.

This is WRONG, people need to educate themselves and stop believing everything they hear on ESPN, which is perpetuating this myth.

See:Brady injury recalls hit to Carson Palmer in 2005 | Eye on Foxborough - masslive.com

"If you're wondering, here's the rule instituted by the NFL in 2006, after Palmer's injury: "A rushing defender is prohibited from forcibly hitting in the knee area or below a passer who has one or both feet on the ground, even if the initial contact is above the knee. It is not a foul if the defender is blocked (or fouled) into the passer and has no opportunity to avoid him...""

The so called "Brady Rule" is an addendum to this rule, which has been in place since 2006, added that you cannot lunge at the QB's legs while on the ground.

Not true. The "Brady Rule" is that a defender cannot lunge and hit the QB from the ground, since the only area of the QB's body that he'll be able to hit is below the knee anyways (which was made illegal after KVO's hit on Carson Palmer in 2006).

5. Leave the signifcant others out of it; we're picking the better coach.

Sure, Bill Belichick has three Super Bowl rings. He has been a coach for twice as long as Sean Payton.

Let's go back to those history books and compare notes. In four seasons with the Saints, Payton is 35-23. In Belichick's first four seasons with the Cleveland Browns, he was 28-30 at this point. In fact, he had one winning season in his first five years as a coach.

Payton was named Coach of the Year and brought his team to the NFC championship in his first season.

And when it comes to fourth-down calls? Nah, we won't go there. It's too easy.

Lulz.

So does that mean any HC who does better in their first 4 years is a better HC than BB?

I'll stick with BB.

EDIT: I didn't know MassLive.com got props that far out.... The Saturday Republican is about the same size as the Bed Bath & Beyond mailer I got yesterday...

I don't mind Saints fans being fired up for this game and whatnot, but they are riding dangerously close to making this the biggest game of their year when it shouldn't be for them. Same thing with the Jets earlier this season and now look at them. You don't want to set yourself up for such a huge fall if your team disappoints.

And if you want an example, the 2003 Kansas City Chiefs say hello.

i think the article is meant to be a joke
