I really doubt it's the dollar that motivates him but his ego.

Tuna "aint" goin anywhere.....

He is in Miami, in control, and making good money and working on a sun tan.

best retirement possibility for him

Tuna leaving for Cleveland= IMPOSSIBLE

You beat me to it. I was going to say that, if he takes this job, he should probably consult a doctor about getting his hands on some Adderall because his ADD is off the charts.

To be honest, though, I'm actually with HarkDawg on this one. I really don't think he's going to be leaving Miami. He loves it down there, the job isn't even halfway done, he has full control of the team, and on top of it all... he owns a home and spends the majority of his time in West Palm. On top of that, why would he want to leave Miami in favor of Cleveland? Last, but not least, keep in mind that this is Florio that we're reading here. Notice how he pulls a "classic Florio" and keeps both possibilities open while only speculating that Parcells will go to Cleveland just because his contract with the Dolphins stipulates that he can leave at any time and cash out...

With the Browns still searching for a new leader of the franchise's football operations and Dolphins V.P. of football operations Bill Parcells free to cash out the rest of his contract and leave for another gig at any time, it was inevitable that Parcells' name would emerge as a candidate for the job in Cleveland.

And, per a league source, it has.

Though we've previously heard that Parcells will be back in Miami for the third year of his four-year deal, predictability and Parcells are hardly synonymous. The man is a master at building and capitalizing on leverage, and the 2010 hiring cycle prevents him with a prime opportunity to do so, again.

If, for some unknown reason, Parcells does actually go to Cleveland, I'm guessing his first decision will be to fire fredo even if fredo wins the rest of the games.

I agree with you. While ANYTHING is possible. Parcells has it made where he is. He is semi retired; has the sun, fishing, golf, whatever else he likes.
What's in Cleveland? If he wanted a challenge;Tampa is close by.
This would be a Shocker but I don't see it happening.

Well once again everyone's already said what I was going to say.

On the one hand, Tuna has made it clear that he'll go just about anywhere if you throw enough money at him. On the other, you'll notice that since he left NYJ* he's stuck with southern cities - Dallas, almost went to Tampa (again) and ultimately to Miami. At his age, I just don't think he'd be willing to leave south Florida for northern Ohio.

But who knows? This is the guy who said his tenure with the Patriots would be his last coaching job.

How much did Parcells have to do with picking that LOSER Henne?

LM FAO what a tard, this guy sux balls!!

I bet he had alot to do with it, hence the background greasing..

" I gotta get the fack outta Miami 'fore they figure out that I am really just a fat ******".

Doesn't his contract say he gets all the $$ even if he quits?

Tuna almost left last year after the team was sold. He was convinced to stay one more year by the new owner even though he wanted to leave. Some think he got a huge bump in pay. His contract says he can leave at any time AND be paid once the team was sold. There is a very good chance he won't be back in Miami next year even if he doesn't go to Cleveland.

I doubt it, just for ego purposes.

I see him leaving for a new challenge in a year or 2 if Miami gets back to the playoffs. One year of one and done in the playoffs while the best player in the division was out doesn't exactly seem like a traditional BP re-building situation. But hey, you never know what can happen I guess.

Well Cleveland is closer to
Churchhill Downs, Belmont Park, Saratoga, Aqueduct, Keeneland and Arlington Park in Illinois than Miami is.

Parcells is probably tired of Gulfstream and Calder by now.

Yeah it is closer....

Churchill and Lexington the track you did not mention are in KY.....
but Miami is by Hialiah and Gulfstream Park;)

sp on Hialiah??

my dad bets the ponies i know where the tracks are:D

I forgot that when he leaves he gets mucho dinero $$$$$$

that changes everything...... Audios Miami.... if he gets that $$ automatically.

He'll go to Cleveland if they finish 1-15 this year - which seems quite likely :D

Never finishes a job? In each one of those cases he's taken one of the worst teams in the league and turned them into a playoff contender in 2 or 3 years. Thats what hes there for, to fix 10 years of bad management. And he does that, better than anyone else.

True, but I think finishing the job means actually winning a Super Bowl, which he only did with 1 team. And he had a little help from Bill Belichick for those Super Bowls - in fact, he's never won a playoff game without Belichick. IMHO it is easier to take over a horrible team and turn them into a playoff team than it is to take over a playoff team and turn them into a champion.

Why? He's better than anyone else at turning a team around. Winning superbowls is as much about luck, staying healthy, etc, as it is about being the best team in football.

His job in each of these cases is to get the team competitive. He's done that.

I disagree that winning a Super Bowl is as much about luck as it is about talent.

I don't think any coach has ever taken a job with the ultimate, final goal being "to get the team competitive." I don't remember Bill Parcells at the podium his first day in Dallas saying "well, we just want to make the playoffs and who cares if we win those playoff games or not?"
