Anyone else check out this site? Pretty intense.

http://profootballfocus.com

Some suprising call outs...(did the sort by position ALL-ALL) Ranking is based on production. Total geek site...Have fun!

The Good

-Vollmer is ranked 6th in the league at LT behind some pretty big names.
-TBC is 4th!!
-Welker and Moss are 8th and 12th
-Neal is #1 ranked guard
-Koppen 10th
-Brady 10th- this one is BS...People like Garrard are ahead of him.
-Faulk 17th
-Wilfork 3rd
-Meriweather is 14th
-Gost is 5th
-McGowen, Lockett, Alexander and Woods graded out well in STs
-Burgess is 28th of 70 DEs
-Ty Warren is 11th of 66

The Bad
-TEs are way down there...
-Mayo and Guyton are in the middle of the pack. Suprised I guess.
-Out of 116 RBs, Maroney is 105th...
-Bodden is 22nd but solid in all areas . All the other DBs have a negative rating.
-Hanson is dead last
-McGowen grades out well vs the run. Vs the pass he is near the bottom.
-Thomas is 44th of 46 OLBs
-Green is 55th of 70 DEs

Bodden's stats pop out at me. 50% completion percentage against, 10.9 yards per catch allowed (which is 5.45 per attempt) and a 63.5 QB Rating when QB's throw at him. Really hope they sign this guy and really wish Sanchez didn't gift wrap 3 picks for him. Would've been a lot easier to sign him with an ordinary 2 INT's next to his name than 5.

Butler's stats aren't far off Bodden in a smaller sample size, of course. If we sign Bodden, we have a scary secondary for years with a Bodden/Butler/Wilhite CB rotation and Meriweather/McGowan/Chung safety rotation. Extremely hard hitting, lots of playmakers and very young.

It's pretty amazing what the secondary has done this year without much of a pass rush. You find a pass rusher or two this off-season and our defense is just as good as our offense is.

Edit: I see this site isn't updated to include this week's game as they have Bodden with 2 INT's still. Pretty scary to think of what his numbers will look like now after the week he just had.

I know most of the lads that run the site.

Two things about it - don't let bias cloud your judgement; the lads are performance evaluators, not talent evaluators. Also - they're all British. Which might raise a few eyebrows.

What I'd say is I'm not a huge fan of the site; I think they get some things wrong, I'm not sure what footage they use to review the games so how accurate is it?; and stats will never ever tell you the whole story.

They do try damn hard though, and I wouldn't be hard on them just because your favourite player hasn't been playing as well as you think he has (in their eyes).

Well said! It's an amusing place to go and see how someone else has tried to grade player's performance, but you do so with the understanding that none of them can know what the coaches know and their grades cannot truly adjust for scheme.

Yep. Thats my take on the site too. Nice to take a gleen at. As far as Butler, McGowen and Maroney:eek:, their contributions weigh muc heavier than their stats.

Butler was ranked highly on there until the Colts game.

I'm not a fan of PFF at all- its evaluation metrics often defy both common sense and other, more reliable metrics.

Why is Ty Warren (DE) ranked vs. 66 while Burgess (DE) is ranked vs. 70?

They list Burgess as a 4-3 DE (out of 70 players and actually 35 out of 115 if you include ALL and not those that just play 25% of the snaps) and Warren as a 3-4 DE (which he was 11th) and a 4-3 DE which had him pretty low.

Obvioulsly with the Pats, he Burgess and others are all over the place.
