Of course, all of you know me as a Cowboys fan here - however, I lived in the Big Easy for almost 20 years, including the year Katrina hit(and ended up moving back to North Texas a year after). Throughout those years, I watched a ton of Saints games with my dad, and alot of interest in this team grew in me.

FWIW too - the Manning brothers went to high school only a couple of miles from where I used to live, so we also follow the Colts and Giants.

It should be a great game - for the most part, I don't remember any time during my time in New Orleans when the Saints were this hugely successful this late in the season. If they started fast off the gate, they would end poorly, and vice versa. But I was out of the city when Sean Payton become HC, so I wasn't able to see their 2006 and this year's success up close.

Anyhow - should be a dandy Monday nighter between our teams!:)

I've lived in western NY for 37 years since moving from RI. I live smack in the middle of Bills country............ and I think the BILLS SUCK. Nice to see you adopt you "new" team as your "old" team slowly "sh!ts the bed". ;)

Your just the kind of fan your cowgirls, err.... I mean your saints..... aaah, no wait, I mean............ NEVER MIND. ;) :D

just busting stones... your actually a "good" visiting fan on this board. I just found you new found adoption funny.

I am tranplanted New Englander here in New Orleans for the past 20 years. I am very excited for the Saints and hope they make it to the Superbowl. I have tickets for Monday night, taking the wife and all three kids. Finally a chance to see Tom Brady, I am unbelievably excited. I really hope they pull off the win, these *******s in this city give me more **** about the pats then I think I would get if I live in New York. I like the Saints and for the most part excited about them, but these people are such ****y asses about them that I am really hoping we shut them down.

I also don't want to listen to it on Tuesday.

Quoted for truth. It's amazing how much people in this city whine about the Pats.

Lol, I actually met someone who claimed to be a Pats & Colts fan. I wanted to punch that person in the face. Instead, I told them they really must not follow football. probably a Lakers & Celtics fan as well.

Most saints fans cant even name the QB befor brees or the running back they traded for draft backs a few years back .

That's just entirely not true at all. How can you forget Aaron Brooks???

Some of them can't spell though so at least you have that in common. BTW for your sig... it's "they're great", not there great. You're welcome.

Let me say this first. Congrats to the Patriots for all of their success they have had the past 5-10 years. Hopefully the Saints can at least duplicate the success the Patriots have had.

New Orleans (#1) Pittsburgh (#2) are the 2 cities that have the most residents from birth to adult age and then death. In other words, residents of these cities don't leave for other areas of the country, for the most part. Both cities have the lease amount of people from other areas of the country living in the respective metropolitan areas.

Saints fans are typically born and raised on Saints football. That is why we have such loyalty and have some of the best attendance in the league, regardless of the W/L record. Currently, there are 50,000 fans on the season ticket waiting list. Unreal, when one considers the metropolitan area has a population of about 1 million.

As far as bandwagon fans and knowing players from years past...etc. That is a very general statement that can be made about just about any team that has had just a very limited and only recent success. It is not most fans, as you have stated. It is some, but not most. All teams have those sorts of fans though.

Good luck Monday night.

I think it will be a classic MNF game, one that will be talked about years from now.

Lol, I actually met someone who claimed to be a Pats & Colts fan. I wanted to punch that person in the face.

When I was in college, I knew a guy, he was a friend of a friend... one day he was really giving me sheet for wearing my Patriots hat. I tried to tell him that the Pats were still my "second favorite" team behind the Packers (which they were at the time) and he got all, "You can't like both the Packers AND the Patriots!"

Except that the jack-arse then told me he was a fan of both the Packers and the Bears, which he claimed was justified because he was from a town in Wisconsin near the Illinois border. I asked him, "And you don't see a double standard there?" No, of course not.

Funny part is this guy was also a very "holier-than-thou" Bible-thumping Christian, and a couple years later he and his girlfriend got married very fast... and less than nine months later their baby was born! ;) (Do the math.)

Wow, a Saints fan that is also a Cowboys fan? Never heard of such an animal, lol.:D
