Re: League looking into dropping of cameraman

you guys are so off base. the cameraman in question is far from a candyass, in fact he is one of the best cameramen in tv today. there is no "personal space" in the middle of a football field, especially after you make the biggest coaching blunder ever, and all you wanna do is go cry in your office. he is still working, tonight in fact, and will be til he retires....the security goof must not be that badass if he's doing that job. what he did was over the top.

Why are you taking it out on us? If he was so good, where was his spotter? You should be taking it out on his spotter whose job is to let him know when he runs out of cable.

Here, you can give this to him, to break his fall next time.

Hey man its alright we all screw up every once in awhile!!! Im sure a NFL security guard makes some pretty good dough and alot more then you do filming the game! if your as good as you say you are why are you on a fan club message board trying to convince people something that you and i both know is "rectified"

Re: League looking into dropping of cameraman

hey tvguy...you a freakin' cheatin' Indy fan?

Re: OT: League looking into dropping of cameraman

Yep. Thats what I think happened too.

This guy Mark Briggs is a bad-*****. Spent 16 years in the British military. Got a medal from the Queen. That means he was into some pretty heavy stuff.

Reminds me of the bald guy to fought Linderman in "My Bodyguard"

Mark Briggs is the head of security at Gillette. I was told that he had been on Queen Elizabeth's security team, had an artificial leg and can chase down anybody. I would not mess with the guy.

See my previous post jackass.

Operations:

Mark Briggs, Chief Operating Officer Mark arrived in the USA towards the end of 2000. Prior to arriving in the USA, Mark served sixteen years in the British Army and managed hundreds of events at London's Wembley complex between 1990 and 1998 (the complex included the world renowned stadium, arena, conference center and exhibition halls). During this time, Mark also successfully formed and ran a security company that provided services to many venues throughout England. In 1996, along with others, Mark created a software program that today provides computer based software solutions for pedestrian management, as well as the design of public gathering spaces. Further information on this program can be viewed at Legion | #1 in Pedestrian Simulation Solutions. In 1998 Mark moved to Australia, under contract with the Sydney Olympics Organizing Committee, and was instrumental in the design and management of public areas throughout the Common Domain area of Sydney Olympic Park during the Olympic Games. As well as planning and managing the actual space, Mark was part of the team who recruited, trained and managed the thousands of paid and volunteer staff who worked throughout what could be described as the best "guest" managed Games of the modern era. Following the completion of the Paralympics Mark moved to the USA on a H1B professional visa and began working as the Director of Security for the home of the New England Patriots. Since arriving in the USA, Mark has assisted in the successful transition from Foxborough Stadium to Gillette Stadium, advised the National Football League and Major League Soccer on security processes at sporting and entertainment venues, overseen the transition from pre 9/11 to post 9/11 (extensive operational military and intelligence experiences in the British army have given insights that were not generally available within the USA). Mark has been responsible for security operations that have included many stadium concerts, MLS and International soccer matches, 5 NFL seasons, 3 Super Bowls, 3 Patriots training camps, as well as the hundreds of stadium trade shows and conferences that take place at Gillette Stadium. In 2007 Mark became Chief Operating Officer of TeamOps LLC, which also provides services at other sports and entertainment venues.

Yeah, you're right. The guy is clueless.

Re: League looking into dropping of cameraman

Mort said on ESPN this morning that Briggs has been "reprimanded" with a letter by the NFL, but that the league found the video "inconclusive."

He had an artificial leg?

Was he able to grow back a real one??

Re: OT: League looking into dropping of cameraman

If that was a knockdown that was some mysterious aikido or jedi mind trick. He hardly touched him.

It was a Jedi mind trick. Trust me. I'd recognize it anywhere.

I would like to see Bear Grylls and Mark Briggs go at it. Who would win?

Bear is a survivalist these days.. He got jumped by Will Ferrell and offered no resistance. That's pretty bad if you ask me.

How can he be reprimanded if the video is inconclusive ? Crazy.

Welcome to the NFL in the Goodell era. Reprimands are the foundation of his 4th ballot compromise administration.

Re: League looking into dropping of cameraman [Update: Briggs "reprimanded" by NFL]

Not as inconclusive as you think..

It was a bodycheck.

Belichick aide vs. cameraman
Then they should have called it a minor infraction and a reprimand, or whatever, but it wasn't inconclusive - anyway, moving on, I'm just glad they didn't take our #1 pick away again, bastards.

NFL Reprimands Mark Briggs

from Mortensen

The NFL has reprimanded the Patriots' chief of security, Mark Briggs, for his role that led to an NBC camera man losing his feet in the post-game aftermath of last Sunday night's game in Indianapolis, according to a league source.
NBC camera man Peter Stendel had moved in for a close-up of Patriots coach Bill Belichick as he made his exit from the field when he was encountered by Briggs, who pushed Stendel's hands in a downward motion. Stendel fell to the ground.
Stendel complained that he was pushed down by Briggs but after reviewing video tape, the NFL determined the cause of his fall was inconclusive because it appeared Stendel was running out of cable to his camera.
Neverthless, Briggs received a letter of reprimand to show more restraint and TV networks were sent a memo asking that camera employees proceed with restraint, as well.
