If Shanahan didn't want to work in New York, why in the world would he want to go to Buffalo to coach the Bills?
Buffalo has to be one of the most unattractive coaching positions possible.
If it goes through Buffalo will probably be turned around because I think shanny is a great coach. That said, I don't think it's an attractive location like other have pointed out. You compete with Belichick, and the worst part is you do so with an owner who has never been willing to spend the money to win.
I don't think any coach wants that right now. In the right organization, shannahan can turn it around I bet. I just don't think a guy like him will work well under a tight wallet owner. You need to take risks to win in this league. There's a big reason why Buffalo has been mediocre for so long.
FWIW. Buffalo local sports station WGR reported Ralph Wilson offered Shanahan a 5 year, $50M deal that includes partial ownership.
