Belichick's moves have dominated the airwaves, and even players like Vollmer, Faulk, and Moss have been praised, but one guy's play (one play in particular) would have been talked about more if they had won, and that is Pat Chung.

Does anyone else remember where they showed replays of Chung just destroying his guy, over and over, and then running to take out another guy? That play was awesome and has been overlooked since the game. I believe he also played most of the defensive snaps and was around the ball a lot.

Do you remember this play, and who else played well who got lost in the aftermath?

I want to give out a shout out to all the players who shut down Dallas Clark for most of the game. It was mostly McGowan, but several of the LBs deserve some props for it. I think the way the Pats shutdown Dallas Clark for all but a couple of plays is the most underappreciated and discussed story of the game.

Derrick Burgess was getting solid pressure throughout (except in the 4th quarter)

He killed the gunner. I was afraid they'd throw the flag on him for unnecessary roughness.

That just illustrates what Patriot football is supposted to be all about, and it shows why Patrick Chung is going to be a starting safety on this team for a long time.

That level of toughness and aggressiveness has been pretty much missing from this team for awhile now.

Not to be facetious, but I don't really see him displacing McGowan or Meriweather. . . .

He's been on the field for tons of defensive snaps the past 4 games. I think Chung is already in progress to do this if he already hasn't done so.

Another random guy to point out is that new receiver we just picked up. He was in on 40+ of our offensive snaps!!!

I just listened to Brady's WEEI weekly and he said some really good things about Isiah.

Apparently, they used him on the scout team* as a WR just because they needed a body to fill the position, and after he made some plays TFB himself said, hey, this QB kid has some skillz at WR!!!! Paraphrasing, of course, but that's the gist. Worth a listen, really. It's near the tail end of the interview, after MUCH discussion about.........................wait for it..........................THE CALL, of course.

*scout team being the people all HCs blame, after a loss, for poor game preparation. All HCs named Wrecks Cryan, that is. :D

EDIT: Linky Tom Brady on WEEI - 11/17/2009

Our safety corps is vicious. Sanders a bit soft, but knows his role. Meriweather, McGowan, and Chung are headhunters. Chungs play on the gunner, was sick. that play summed up the first three quarters against the Colts.

How did he look in the game? Did he look like he could actually help in a 3WR/4WR role?
He looked alright, they showed him helping Vollmer by chipping Freeney once, he was out in front as a blocker on a good run (or run after catch, I forget now) which he executed well without holding and Brady threw to him twice with no issues. He's not a fast WR but he looks like he can, at worst, be a usable bottom of the roster guy. I guess he likes QB better but he looks like he could fill a bit of a utility role.

hmm imagine a scenario with both stanback and edelman on the field at the same time in a wildcat formation, both of those guys could throw, run or catch which could certainly have the potential for a big play.

Or imagine this: Brady with the ball in his hand!?!?!?!?

He looked pretty decent... except for his number. Stanback needs a badass wide receiver number, IMHO.

Hes been on the field a lot lately because the Tenn and TB games were blowouts and the 2nd stringers were in a lot of the time. He played more vs the Colts and Dolphins because hes replaced Sanders in the Nickel and the Dime packages. He definitely wont take over a starting position from McGowan or Meriweather.

dude, that gunner saw more grass then sky in that play....owww, that was amazing, the guy was being treated like a nobody
